Paperwork time is relative to the deal etc. I got my own financing, so Im just giving them a check and signing a few forms.. I am sure a good CA will spend quite a bit of time making sure you understand the car etc, so it does take a while. I still maintain that delivery of a sold car should take precedence over trying to sell more, but thats just my opinion.. Either way I know you are gonna be way happy when you drive that puppy off the lot..

I'm with Carguy on this one! Car dealerships, like any retail business, is CUSTOMER oriented, and while there are instances where it's good business to accomodate the business's situation, in this instant I suspect your CA/SA is more concerned about being on the floor on what is typically their busiest sales day than with closing the deal with you. I'd call him up, and simply tell him it's most convenient for you to take delivery on Saturday, and insist he take the necessary time with you to make that happen. Mine told me it would be an hour to an hour and a half total. If he won't, ask to talk to the General Manager so you can discuss it with him. If further necessary, let them know you have the number for BMWNA, or that you'd hate to think the CA/SA's BMWNA evaluation would be adversely affected by his decision. I'm sure they'll find time for you! Get your car, and enjoy the weekend with it!!!

My .02...

Fletch!

He just wants to sell more and make you wait.. My vote is you set him straight and really enjoy your weekend.. Mr Fletcher I will spare a thought for you tomorrow AM as you take delivery... Enjoy!
Now what made me think you'd not take me up on my offer?

Ok everybody...last minute prep before I go pick up my new baby! I'll check in sometime after I've cruised around a bit, and I'll post pics when I have time...

my 330i is en route-but on which ship? Help!!

I placed an order for a 330i Feb.3. My dealer gave me a delivery date of 3/11/2006. I am in So.Cal. How do I find out which vessel the car is on and/or if it will arrive sooner that later. The suspense is killing me!!!!!

Looks fantastic Sir !! Congradulations and have a great time.. I just laid eyes on mine for the first time. CA called and let me come see her in the detail shop. They will have her sitting in the center of the showroom tomorrow when I bring The Mrs to pick her up.. What a feeling. Nothing like seeing her for the first time after all this wait.. I love the color too. I have the digital camera all lined up, and as soon as I figure out how, I will post some pic. They had already puyt on the 330 exhaust tips.. Got some rear spacers on order as well.. Take it easy on her for a while Sir,, shes a beautiful ride..

Just a follow up folks. Got to talking with my CA about the DJ, and when the ship got where etc.. He started looking funny and asked me how I knew all that stuff. Long story short we got on his office computer and I introduced him to our little web thread. He was amazed at the pictures and the ship tracking info etc.. Never had heard of E90post. etc. He said you guys had come up with way better and more realtime info than they have.. And this webpage is now on his favorites list on the old office PC.. At least in my dealers case we had a much better knowledge of where our cars were than they did... Counting the minutes till 4:30 tomorrow...

Here are a couple of pics I took as soon as I got home from my delivery. They are not the best shots but I felt that I should get something posted. Hopefully the weather will clear up soon and I can get some better pics.

Hey all...just got back home, and I thought I'd toss in my impressions of my car after putting 172 "get to know her" miles! What's not to like? She handles like a dream! I even had an opportunity to drive her through a major downpour for close to 5 miles on the expressway at 75mph, and she didn't complain at all! Those rain-sensing windshield wipers even kept pace! Of course I could have put more miles on, but I had several stops during the day, and I took plenty of time to read the manual about this and that, and learned just about everything there is to know about the car's operation. I also got my 15mm spacers installed during the afternoon after they arrived, and I couldn't be happier with my choice! Very beefy looking in the rear now, and very close to what I believe it should look like from the factory anyway, which is a bit closer to the M-series profile. Time at the dealer was just over an hour (only because the finance guy disappeard for about 10 minutes), and it was hassle free. Very nice experience overall.

Well...that's about it for now. Friday promises to be the day I'll clean and Zaino her, and once I do, I'll take some time to take some decent pics, and post them for all to see.

ttyl

Carguy...fantastic! Glad you finally got to see your baby in the flesh! My CA took me downstairs to the service area, and asked me to pick mine out. I spotted it immediately! I guess they haven't been getting that many ZSP's, and my CA commented several times how nice he thinks the E90 is with the Style 162 rims. I couldn't agree more. Not bad for a stock rim.

Anyway...enjoy the day tomorrow, and enjoy your first ride in your new car!

Hey, if you can get the pics from the camera to the computer, it's not difficult at all to upload/attach to a message. At the bottom of each page is a section for "quick replies." Below the quick reply box are two buttons. One is to post the quick reply, the other is labelled "Go Advanced." Click on the Go Advanced button. This will take you to a much larger section where one can input their message, and below the message input area is another section called "Additional Options." In that section is a button labelled "Manage Attachements." Click on that, and you'll see several text input areas, alonside of which are buttons browse your computer for the location of your photos. Click those as necessary, tell it where the photos are, then click the "Upload" button to the right. Once it's finished, it will indicate the files uploaded, and their sizes. Close the window at that point, then submit your message, and your pics will be attached.

One quick tip...if you know how....resize a COPY of your photos to something like 800x600 so they fit better into our thread viewing area. No harm done if you don't know how, but it makes it a bit more readable/viewable if you can resize them.

Hope this helps. Oh...by the way...I noticed you never quote the person to whom you respond. Not sure if that's by choice, or you don't know how, or that you can, but if you want to respond to a certain message only, click on the "Quote" button in that person's message, and it will bring up a regular message dialogue box with that person's message already quoted. Makes it very handy in long threads, particularly when one cannot respond right away, and one's response can lose meaning and/or a connection to the message being responded to.

Thanks Fletch I haven't had much time to play around because I had to do a couple of phone screenings last night when I got home from the delivery. Including the drive to work this morning, there are about 65 miles on her now. This car is going to be such a pleasure to own and drive for years to come. A BMW E90 was definitely the right choice!

Good morning everybody...I see I have missed quite a bit of good news/celebrations in my abscence . I am scheduled to (finally) pick my car up 3pm this afternoon...just couldn't wait for Sat morning . Yep, taking some time off work on this beautiful warmed-up day (highs of 74F) with partly cloudy skies . Pictures will be posted as soon as possible.

Ok congratulationary roll call:

Mr. Fletcher. Mr. Cinci330 and Mr. no_exit: The cars look awesome!!! Hard to believe its sitting in your driveway after weeks of waiting and tracking. Congratulations once again...wishing you plenty of miles and smiles this weekend. (P.S. Shipmate Fletcher:what's with the Gran Marquis?)

Mr. Carguy1965: Congratulations to you too. Looking forward to pictures of your Mystic Blue 325i

Mr. b311lee: Congratulations! May you have a perfect and memorable delivery. Will you be driving your car back to DC (from OH)?

Mr Scrooge4277: Congratulations to you! I assume you'd taken delivery by now. I am sure you are having a great time. Please don't forget about us, looking forward to those pictures.

I have not heard from our friends who got off in NY/NJ....

I hope I didn't miss anybody....

Welcome back! Hope the trip was productive!

Plenty of miles? I'm breaking her in quickly! Have about 300 miles on her already, but I'll slow the pace a bit now. Just wanted to bond with her...ya know?

The Gran Marquis...is my "elderly" neighbor's car. Really nice guy, but he usually parks it an an angle towards my driveway, and squeezes me a little (he did a great job parking that day, however). But like I said....super nice guy, and I know he isn't doing it intentionally, so I'm just a bit more careful pulling out. Leaving well enough alone.
