I have tried the alternate mapping. I appreciate the response because I do love the AP. It's the iPod of tuning. Can you give me an ETA on when you will be doing that? Anytime soon? I would very much so like that.

How is next week? I'm going to remove the alternate throttle v2 and place in my new linear throttle curve.

Cheers,
Rob

I'm noticing on an associate's 135i that during data logging on some runs, we are seeing boost reach 20 psi on the AP unit's records. I thought we would be seeing closer to 14.5psi.

Theres no way thats possible without new engine internals, etc. If not, running that kind of psi on our smaller twin turbos on an engine that was meant to see around 7-8 psi stock, they will certainly see problems start to come.

Holy shit!!!!!!!are you serious???that's no beuno for the stock turbos that = kaboom!

The stock turbos are over spinning at that psi,and even better this is being done on pump gas too..there's going to be some problems with this psi very shortly!the funny thing is even with that much boost the jb4 still whips it..tunes are like asshols ,everyone has one but some stink mOre then others.

I agree. That's why I'm concerned. Are the numbers coming off the data log accurate, or maybe the numbers going into the data log from the ECU correct?

I don't mind sending a copy of the data log out...

pretty sure this has been answered a million times before... figure out WHERE that psi value is being read. I'm willing to bet that this is NOT psi in the intake manifold.

All I know is it's being read at the Cobb AP under Monitors, and that it is read as "Boost".

Search "boost spike"

That is what you are seeing between gear shifts.

If you are running the new 3.00 map then you would not see this becasue Cobb has calibrated the AP differently to not show this anymore. It is not a real psi number.

With the new map you will now see negative psi at low throttle and idle which is the real value and no boost spikes.

I'll do just that. The search terms I was using did not return much helpful info.

That's excellent news that the boost number we're seeing is not an accurate number. His AP unit is still running 2.03 until 3.0 comes out of beta.

Thanks for the info!

If you go back a page or two I think sometime in the next week is being hinted at for at least a beta release...

I haven't had any issues with beta releases (including the 3.00 beta I've been on for a few weeks). I trust when Cobb makes a public release and I know the alpha release has been out for some time now... I'm ready for it.

Wonder how Safe this would be on pump. Well as long as the * isn't aggressive then it should be fine.

It's quite puzzling why the cruise control would not work if your AP is uninstalled putting your 100% original ROM back on. The reason the cruise control stops working is the wrong control code was there when the AP was installed. Your stock ROM file will have the correct control code for the cruise control which would be reflashed when the AP is uninstalled. My suggestion, since your AP is gone, would be to disconnect the battery for an hour or so to reset all the computers.

I can understand being upset. If there is anything I can do, please call Ian or I. We'll help the best we can.

Cheers,
Rob
Thanks Rob. I reset the computer by disconnecting the batter for a while, and the cruise control now works!
