Anyone ordering a 128i coupe? (options discussion)
Just wondering if anyone is thinking about the 128 as most of the attention here is on the 135. I'm torn between choosing the sports and premium package. Ideally I'd like to have both, but it would be nice to save the cash for other things. Here are some of my thoughts on each package.
Premium Sunroof is nice to have, but I can live without it. I've always wanted xenons on my car and it's the only reason why I would get this package in the first place. I have no idea what the "lights package" is but I don't care about it either. Same with bluetooth. Basically, I'd be paying $2700 to get xenon lights :iono: Sport Only thing keeping me from getting this are the rims. Although I don't find them ugly, I don't find them particularly appealing either. It's something I could live with but considering they probably make up the bulk of the $2500 that the package costs, it would be a waste to get the package only to have to replace the rims. How much do you guys think I'll be missing out on if I don't have the sport seats and sport suspension? If it's not a big difference then it'd be a no brainer for me to get the premium package. If it helps, the car will be my daily driver. I won't be tracking it. I live about 6km from work. [edit] Forgot to add that I'll be keeping it until it dies or it becomes too expensive to maintain. Thanks! |

Hi,
I ordered a 128i, with almost the same criteria as you. I'll be using the car for short comuting(8km) and road tripping. I ended up ordering with sport, premium, metalic paint, and usb audio. I didn't really want the assist or lights package, but they look like nice extras to have. Bluetooth is a good bonus, assuming it works with my phone. Sports seats and suspension were a must for me, but like you I'm not thrilled with the wheels. I'll wait till I see them in person, maybe the dealer will let me swap them for another style. I will have to buy a set winter wheels and tires, so I don't like the thought of buying summer wheels right away as well. jay |

Hey
Here we have the 125i (with a 3litre engine) and the 135i (covering the petrol models)... The lighting package is basically the door well and vanity mirror lights as well as illumination in the door handles and a few other places I'm still pretty undecided between a 1er coupe and a 3er coupe due to options vs pricing as speed isn't really the main reason i'm buying the car even although the 135i looks really good. I dont know what options your country has but here you can add the "135i" wheels 264's or if you're going sport pack you could get the 18's 261M's? |

Twisted,
Our 128 is basically the same as your 125 except it has 230hp instead of the 125's 218hp. The Canadian Market 128i sport package comes with style 263 staggered 18" wheels. I would have substituted for style 261 or 264 if the ordering system would have allowed it. I will wait to see them in person, they might grow on me. Jay

This is going to sound petty, but I am planning on getting the 128 because I like the fog lights, and I don't like the grey backside of the 135. However, I am not committing to either until I drive them both. Currently, I drive an Infiniti G35 Coupe and it is fast as hell. I can't go back to having a car that is not fast as hell. I will know which one I am getting the second my foot touches the pedal. If I get the 128, I am getting Jet Black. If I get the 135, I am getting S. Graphite because it is gorgeous "and" it will somewhat disguise the grey panel on the lower backside....

the 128 Premium package dosen't come with leather in Canada. leather is a $1900 stand alone option. I aggree sport was a must have for me. ZAF - Premium $2700 Sunroof xenon headlights, lights package(ambient, puddle lights etc.) Bmw Assist w/bluetooth ZAI - Sport Package $2500 18" style 263 wheels Sport Suspension Sport Seats

Xenon lights and Corona rings for Daytime-running-lights (DRL) are both standard features for Canadian 1ers; Adaptive headlights, however, is not. |
