Vishnu PWM Meth & Mr. 5 intake

I just recently got the PWM Meth kit from Vishnu and it really lives up to the hype its been given. See cross post..
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=581083

I've had all the parts for the Mr. 5 intake for a while now and was hoping to be able to install them with the PWM meth kit. Unfortunately, the only way this looks possible is to relocated the meth pump somewhere else. On a 135i anyway, its just not gonna work with the pump next to the PS res like Vishnu recomends. I'm not saying its impossible to get both of these installed, it would just take some creative relocation of the pump which I wasn't really up for taking the risk on.

The disapointment over this really faded away after a few pulls on map 4 with meth on

Yeah with meth your best bet is DCI's, the meth will offset any additional increase in IAT's.

Yep, have DCIs and figured the same. Running off meth though, the throttle response low end is night and day different between the DCIs and stock box. Was hoping that the Mr. 5 would be best of both worlds in that case. Good low end throttle response and better flow up top.

I've noticed the throttle response also and have ran the DCI's and stock box back to back over a couple of days to confirm. If your running the procede you should be able to adjust the gain to improve throttle response it's basically like the sprint booster.

Unless your boosting above 13 to 14 PSI the stock box is your best bet, but with meth you should be around 16-17 at WOT then you should switch to DCI's or some other less restrictive intake. Here's Cobb's take on it.

Cliff notes
- Was done with stage one which is around 13.5-14.5 of boost

- The dyno graph shows the stock intake made the same peak HP as the DCI, and made slightly more torque in the low-end and at peak

- As a final test, the top of the stock airbox was removed. The dyno graph shows appreciable gains in HP and torque across the entire power band over the stock intake and the DCI. This shows that there is power to be gained over the stock intake when restrictions are removed

IMHO the best intake is the Dinan/Mr.5 intake as his logs show that his intake flows just as well as the DCI's. If you really wanted to just mount the pump in the trunk.

I've adjusted boost gain and it really didn't get back to the same feel as stock box. (NOTE: I'm at 6k ft altitude, so spool up has a few more psi to overcome)

I also agree with your take on the best overall intake options. If I wasn't going to run meth I would have went with the Mr. 5. The Dinan is also very good, but could not justify spending over a grand on an intake.
