Service Info

Hi all, I have a 05 120i and it's just clocked 120k. I've had some previous bad experiences with mechanics when it's come to servicing my car.

Now I plan to buy the the service parts required for this service and take it to a mechanic I've been referred to. I just need to know what parts are required for this 120k service. I've checked my log books to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It will depend on who you ask as to what should be done. BMW believes in lifetime fluids. I do not.

Here is what I would recommend...

oil and filter change
cabin pollen filter (every year)
wiper blades (every year)
flush and bleed brake fluid(every two years)



change....
transmission fluid (manual)
diff fluid

air filter - replace
spark plugs - replace


check...
polly v belt (for cracks)
brakes
tires
suspension links and bushing
clutch
parking brake - adjust?
battery terminals for corrosion & check battery for load.
exhaust system for leaks or wear.

Id definitely have the mechanic do a complete vehicle check and have him replace the obvious;

oil, oil filter, air filter, cabin pollen filter, fuel filter.

I'm pretty sure they are all in need of change.

Plugs were changed at 100k..
