For this reason, i couldn't justify getting one especially if coupled with loss of hp.

Is this power loss common? Do you think it's an N54 only issue or N55, also?

Spoke with my SA about the cost vs benefits of the PE. He said, as many have already said, that there is no measurable increase in power/hp. He said the PE is made of lighter better quality material. He agreed that it was great for the sound but, for me, $1250 for sound is far out of my range of mad money.

I asked about the TeeMod. The only thing he could say is that if BMW made the unit as it is then that was good enough for him with 13yrs of working on BMWs. I mentioned that the PE did not have the flapper valve so why not just open it on the stock exhaust. He did not know any specifics about this but it may have something to do with the internals of the muffler on the PE vs the stock muffler. I do not know if they are different.

Just thought I would send these comments for what they are worth.
