Reviving this thread. Apparently, you can replace the entire steering wheel with the m3 wheel. Two questions.... Can I use my old DCT paddles with an m3 steering wheel and if not can I use the m3 paddles with dealer programming?

Hey guys I am presently working on figuring out custom wiring to make the m3 paddles work with DCT. If I can get it working I will make a retrofit harness to sell so others can utilize these as well. Stay tuned I have the m3 paddles and m3 wheel installed I am now troubleshooting the wiring!

I have a brand new M3 steering wheel with M3 DCT paddles, as well as brand new M3 DCT paddles for sale. Both of these will work plug and play as mentioned earlier if you have SSG steptronic paddles.

But we DCT owners are still out of luck.

To be honest, whist the M3 paddles look good, I think they are still too short.
The M6 paddles look like they would be good to use and you can get longer and sleeker aftermarket ones that are actually practical but I am not sure there are any that fit our cars |

If we could use the M3 switches we could also use the aftermarket paddles available for the M3. But I don't think this will ever work.

There are at least 2 who said they were working on it, then they stopped updating the thread(s). I really hope it works but I'm not holding my breath.

If it were coding it would be easy. I think there are physical differences between the systems that just can't be overcome, at least not on a "civilian" tuner budget.

I read somewhere on here that a resistor would need to be soldered in to make the switch work but I don't know what size. The biggest drawback is that it is cost prohibitive to get a set of M3 paddles to experiment on. Has anybody tried taking apart one of the switches to see how it works? The M3 switches can be upgraded with a longer paddle like in this thread. Maybe ours are similar.
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...hlight=paddles I think a better option would be to get one of the companies that make them for the M3 make them for us. BTW I think our switches are the same for X5, 3 series, Z4 etc. so there could be a bigger market than just the 135. Just incase others are following this thread and have a set of M3 switches. Here are some measurements to compare to. * Readings were taken across pins 1 and 2. The readings were the same even with the leads switched so I don't think think anything fancy is going on in there other than it's a switch. - With the switch not engaged= 6.17 K ohms - With the switch engaged= 1.18 K ohms NOTE: I only tested one switch so I can't guarantee the other switch acts the same.

I am looking to do this on my '11 135is DCT. Are you saying that it is possible to swap the stock silver and black paddles for the M3 stock silver paddles as a direct swap?
