*Obsessed* Even More E91 Pics. Chrome Grill, 8000k Fogs, Bla Bla Bla...
All right! I admit I don't have anything better to do then play with my car right now, OK?
Today I gave my car a Zymol wax treatment, then did the DIY "chrome grill", using the pin-stripe method, installed a new style OEM license plate frame, and finally I installed the 8000k fog-lamps that I had taken out of my E46. The Zymol looks great IMO. Good stuff. I really love the new style plate frame. It has a matte finish, with the BMW inverted to chrome. Perfect for a silver car with blacklines and tinted windows. IMO. The Chroming of the grills took about 40 mins, and I like the look. I'm not sure about the thought of having chrome pin-striping on my car, I'm considering getting a OEM chrome grill. Don't take me wrong, the DIY looks real good, can't tell at all. I'm just a freak I guess. That takes me to the 8000k fog-lamps. That DIY took 10 minute, was very easy, but I'm not sure if I like them yet, I'm going to sleep on it. I looks better than the OEM, I think. Just not sure if 8000k is the perfect match for my Xenon's. I'll decide after I install the PMB. It was a nice day in Chicago, so here's some pics: For LEDZEP:

Nice pics. Is it very hard to change the fog light bulbs?

Not at all. Very easy, especially with pics from here.
lux.sh did a great DIY, but I didn't use a jack. I have a ramp going into my garage instead. Here's his DIY: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6418

I don't have a ramp or a jack so I might be in trouble doing this DIY

Harder Yes, impossble, No. You could even drive up on a couple 2"x4"'s, anything to get you car a little higher. Just take a look under there, you'll see the screws you'll have to take off.

I bought mine on eBay.
The H-11 is a fairly common lamp, you can find them at most auto-parts stores. Finding the right temp is the problem. Good luck

Whew. Some Touring content to release me from the eternal/infernal e92 thread(s).
Looking better all the time, ChiTown. Tasteful mods. I really can't tell your modified grille from stock - I'll have to remember that trick. You are obsessed... but I say that with some reverence.

Nice pics as always
Is that the chrome trim kit like the ones you find in ebay? Are you gonna do the lower bumper insert trim next? Wrt to fog lights, you do not need to have the car on ramps although a small lift via a jack might give you more space/comfort esp for ZSP or lowered cars, but again unnecessary. Basically, you need to loosen the bottom front part of the fender liner (unscrew some nuts) to pull it back a bit to give you access to the fog lamp bulbs, after that its just a simple twist, pull, twist ... put everything back together and you're good to go....

ChiTown,
Thanks for sharing the beautiful pics of your stunning Touring. I share your choice of 161s for the wagon; they really give the car a sporty look. One more mod for you to consider: replace the three horizontal slats under the front bumper (black plastic) with the 330i style (dark silver). These pieces pop in and out. The dark silver slats compliment the chrome trim in your revised grill.

Do you have any pics of your E91 with the slats under the bumper you speak of? Would love to see it.
