I'm curious how tall everyone with this issue is. I'm about 5'8" and I've got the steering wheel in a very comfortable spot and I can see all my gauges fine.

Yeah I can definitely tell how much revs I have and when to shift without looking lol. The speedometer is off by ~5-10% slower though.

Yeah I've wondered about that because other cars have an option for that. I'd consider it, but it's not really a big issue for me lol.

I'm 5'6", but the thing is everyone is different and like to sit in different positions. I like having the steering wheel low to the ground and as close as a 90 degree angle as possible.. so that basically makes it impossible to see the full instrument cluster -__-

I'm 5-11 also and there are a limited number of seating options if I want to see the gauges... I use my GPS and Torque tablet instead...

Since this is a second car for me I'm fortunate that I can take time to get the car where I want it over time. I'm only driving it about 7-10k per year, maybe less. I don't use it for work so every time I get behind the wheel it's just for the fun of it.
I had (still have until Spring) a 10 RX8 GT. Agree that the ergonomics were just about perfect (except for the lack of headroom). Simple controls within reach. Nothing really frustrated me (except lack of headroom). Transmission is one of the best, handling is neutral, fun to drive to a certain point. Negatives were gas/oil consumption and questionable long-term engine reliability.

As for the 135, whoever designed the radio interface should be shot. Too many buttons to push to change menus, etc. Granted there's little real estate for a bigger display, but this is a nightmare. Throw in not being able to see the display with sunglasses on just makes it worse. Is the sun never out in Germany?

I can't wait for the RFTs to go bald and knock off all that dead weight. I thought I herniated a disc removing them to put on my winter tires.

Agree on the seats. Yesterday it was low 30's and I had butt sweat? I thought I needed Depends.

I hate the fact that I have to pump premium unleaded into it. I'm cheap and rather pump it into my motorcycle....just saying.

My wife always complains about the need for premium. Doing the math based on15000 miles/yr at 15 mpg with a $.20 price diff is $200 per year. Even less if you average 20 mpg.

I just cut out Starbucks. $5 a day 5 days a week adds up a lot quicker.

Only Gripe

My only complaint with my 2012 128i coupe is the lack of brightness on the nav screen, during the day. That being said, I don't use it that much; prefer google maps on the iPhone, plus it only gets driven about 3000 per year, so I guess I can live with it. HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all.

I imagine this has been mentioned before but the cup holder that sits under the armrest. I like my armrest so can't use the cup holder for holding much other than my phone or keys. :/

Yes, but every 12 stars gets you a 'free' drink… so it's only around $4.60 per trip. Hell, Starbucks is way more expensive than gasoline. Your $5.00 buys how much? 20oz? That's like $30.00 per gallon...

All kidding aside, I agree with you. The difference in price between regular and premium is not breaking the budget for most 1-series owners.

I have a cup-holder ashtray (with lid) for the under armrest holder, and it comes in handy when I have a stogie and get a phone call.

Anyone else notice how long it takes the oil to warmup? It literally takes 20 mins of driving before the oil temp guage settles to just below half.today was +5C so not that cold and still took 20 minutes.

+1

Now that it is down to -15* my car doesn't get up to temp on the daily commute.

Absolutely. I'm not sure if the extra radiator in the PPK2 makes this characteristic more or less pronounced than non-PPK2 cars. A couple of weeks ago it was only +5F (-15C) and still took only about 20 minutes to get to 235. At about 5 minutes the needle is just starting to move off of 160. I usually add a few miles to my commute to ensure it gets up to operating temps.

Try "night mode" during the day. I find the white on black contrast much more legible, day or night.

Run Flat Tires. They are junk, and if you buy your car new, and it's been sitting for a while, they perminantly flat spot. Which is not covered under warranty, they will not replace them (dealer), and now I'm out of pocket for new tires on my brand new car. Very very unhappy.

The suspension as a whole.

Notable contenders include: Open differential, and inability to get massive tires under the car.
