Dealer day - Phillip Island

On Friday I was lucky enough to spend the day down at Phillip Island race course on a Melbourne metro dealer day and go for a drive. Originally the plan was for M235i and 428is... unfortunately they couldn't get those cars, so in pit lane were a fleet of brand new M3 and M4s ready for our use! Each car had something like 2-4k on the clock, fresh PSS, and the current format is one person per car, no more joy riding with a stranger!

Only my second time for a track, they were paced laps, and it was just amazing. The cars are amazing, they made unexperienced track drivers like me feel like I knew what I was doing, and that engine... wow. Not often you get to redline in third in any car. It was amazing day, 6ish laps on the track, all paced, 200odd down the main straight.

We also had M235is for the skid pan. It was so much fun.

Good one. Nothing like burning someone else's rubber!

Which colour combo (paint/wheels) looked best on the M3 and 4?

Thanks for comments guys.

Personally I love the Mineral White at the moment. I think the Sakhir Orange has the most impact and is where my money would go. While the Austin Yellow and Marina Blue are nice... The just don't 'do it' for me - probably because they're the only colours in the advertising materials?

Only got a few photos, only had iPhone and was too excited. Once we finished driving the alternate group when straight out. We had a perfect day at PI, no wind, no breeze, perfect winter day.

My missus was supposed to be there today but my daughter was sick and I was participating in a competition. Oh well.

I saw these cars at PI more than two months ago. They haven't started using them as customer drive cars yet at the time as the model wasn't officially released yet. That was the first time I got to drive the M3, around the car park. Anyway I've had my own for a month so less of a big deal for me now.
