Tire sizes

Hey guys,

Got a set of VMRs V718s 18x8.5 et 45 for the fronts and a 18x9.5 et50. For tires I'm going with a Re760 Sports. Quick question, for the rear, on my tire guys's recommendation, I got 245/35 ordered, but I was thinking of swapping the order and getting 255/35, what do you guys think?

My car: 128i, stock, non-m sport suspension

Will make little to no difference, but I'd stick with the 245s. Your 128i almost certainly does not need more rear grip. At least going 225/40 (they don't sell 760s in the OEM 215 size) and 245/35 will help in a small way with the factory understeer. FWIW, this is the exact setup I'll be switching to in the next few months.

depends on the tires you get. 245's on a 9.5 wheel would be stretched on some brands. I have 255 on my 9.5's.

I suggest 255/35/18 will be a better fit for 9.5" rims.

If it's not too late get an 8.5-et45 for the rear if you want to run a 245 which is plenty for the 128. It also gives you flexibility to go fully square in the future with 245 all around.

For the 128 I would definitely recommend sorting things out and going 245 square.

I got a 225/40s in the front on 8.5, and 255/30 in the backs on 9.5. Ya, they tire doesn't fully cover the back or the front
I went with bridgestone re760s

I dunno. Seems like too much wheel & tire both for the 128. I switched from the 215/245 setup the car came with to 225/40/18 all around. Much better setup IMO for the 128's power. Better balance, less understeer.
