How do you remove carpet in rear footwell?
I'm trying to remove the carpet in the rear footwells (the piece begins halfway under front seats and extends to the back seat) because I don't want to cut the carpet to install a bolt-in roll bar which bolts to the floorpan: http://i52.tinypic.com/xbmvl4.jpg (look at the bottom of the front seats to see where rear carpet section begins as well as where the roll bar mounts)
Has anyone had experience with this? I found a TIS document describing the removal, but for some reason it says that it involves removing the handbrake lever? I don't see how that matters, but to me it looks like it might require removal of central console? Ive included the links to the TIS docs below: Removing and installing/replacing rear carpet on seat pan: http://tis.spaghetticoder.org/s/view.pl?1/09/95/00 Removing handbrake lever (part of instructions to remove carpet) http://tis.spaghetticoder.org/s/view.pl?1/09/80/75 Removing and installing storage compartment (necessary?) http://tis.spaghetticoder.org/s/view.pl?1/09/80/87 |

The carpet in the car is 2 piece. Front and rear. The seam is under the console and the seats for aesthetic reasons. Both front seats and console need to come out hence handbrake removal. If u take out the seat and the door sills and rear seat you can just pull up the carpet to get what you need
