Terrey Hills. Still have a place there and visit often. Been in Tassie for 2.5 years.

Love the great driving roads, open spaces, lack of traffic and scenery here. But miss the conveniences and culture of my home town.

Actually that's the reason why I'm buying my 135 - I love driving and I need a bit of R&R. Thinking of going into Targa Tas next year with my 1er.:wink:

My sister sold up a few years ago from Melbourne and moved to Merimbula on the lower NSW south coast..

One questions d3syd, can you go to Targa Tasmania with the regular 135 or do you have to make some modifications, I would love to go there and give it a go, I heard that at the beggining you can just go there before the official race tkes place, is that right?

If you don't want to modify your car, you can enter the 'Tour' event. You get to drive on the closed road stages ahead of the competitive field and you're are meant to stick to the speed limit but after speaking to some Targa officials, not many people do.

You also get to participate in all the non driving events and gatherings.

Oh yes, you don't need to have a CAMS licence for the tour, just a 'Tour licence' which Targa arranges for you.

Yes, that Is exactly what I was thinking of. I reckon you will have to go with some spare parts for the car, right? At least the tyres, might have to change the run flat tyres for normal ones.

Ok I admit Melbourne has it over Sydney on the cultural front, but you guys can't beat our harbour and pizzazz:wink:

For the OP, the Aida is booked into Freo port on 22/5 at midday and then departing 5 hours later to Melbourne. Hope that helps

a bit off topic here, but i have a question for you guys in sydney.

can anyone explain to me exactly how the opera house was the inspiration for those r8 lights? do you have to squint while you look at them? i don't get it....

Thanks Dave, I did check the Freo ports site as well. I hope it's on time.

My dealer rang me today and I asked him how long it would take from the time the car is unloaded to delivery. Around 10 days he says. That is from Melbourne to Launceston - as my car needs to take one more boat trip across Bass Strait after coming off the ship
