Exhaust choices?
I know a lot of this had probably been discussed already, but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for via search.
So I'm trying to decide on exhaust and I am overwhelmed at the number of choices that are out there. For this car I just want it a bit louder. I previously had an Ark exhaust on my G37. It is easily the best sounding exhaust I have ever had and I have received many complements on it. It was loud on the outside and not nice and mellow on the inside. I think I decided that I want to do Berk mid-pipe paired with the stock exhaust. I also want to keep the stock look of the muffler. In the future if I decide this combination is too soft for me, can I just buy the muffler for the BMW performance exhaust and pair it with the Berk mid-pipe? I want everything to be bolt on and don't want to cut any piping. Also are there any videos out there of the Berk mid-pipe with the stock exhaust and the Berk mid-pipe paired with the BMW performance exhaust? Also how do I buy just the muffler for the 135i? Do I just buy the one that is meant for the 128i? |

What year is the car and what mods are you planning? If you going with a tune and downpipes that will really change the sound of any of the mufflers. If your keeping the down pipes then even some of the louder ones will be alot softer. One of the best sounding exhausts is the BMW performance muffler but with no cats doesn't sound near as good.

It's a 2011 135i...I most likely won't be doing a tune and want to keep the stock downpipes. After going to the dealer today and hearing them trying to deny some guys warranty for a tune, I am being vey cautious about what mods I do to this car. Last edited by dpattana; 09-16-2013 at 09:59 PM.. |

I'd focus on just the muffler as there's no point in replacing the mids if your keeping the downpipes. A BMW Performance is really nice but pricey unless you find one used, other than that most people tend to like the Berk street.

MadDad is also a great choice. They have two version, Whisper and Street! The both sound nice IMO.
