Another New Owner - Chicago

Hello everyone! I'm excited to finally join up on 1Addicts. This past Saturday I flew down to sunny and humid Pensacola, FL to pick up my "new" 2008 135i Coupe. It is the lovely Sedona Red Metallic with Black Boston leather, and aluminum hexagon trim. Has 6 speed manual with the M Sport package. 1 owner and only had 61k miles. It was originally a Euro-Spec car but was imported when the military owner was done with his tour and came back to the US. I got it for a steal of a deal and no way I could let this one go.

My friend and I had a mostly uneventful 17hr ride back to Chicago (including all stops) except when a Honda CR-V kicked up a rock and cracked my windshield! Boy was I pissed! This was only a few hours after I bought her. Oh well. At least it is right by my rear view mirror and is not super noticeable to me.

My first car was an e39 2000 528iA. Was a great car. Just got bored and wanted more speed and handling so I bought a 1996 e36 M3 Coupe 5 speed. I am going to keep that as my weekend driver/track car.

I had been looking for a while for a newer car. I had thought about e46 M3's, e39 M5's but then thought about the e82 135i. I test drove an auto version a few years back and loved the speed, handling and size. For years I would look on Autotrader and Cars.com for a great deal. A few times came close but sanity took over. Now seemed like the perfect time and the deal was great. Got a bunch of extras and a set of winter tires so it was even sweeter. I can't wait to start regularly driving her. I will pick up a catch can and charge pipe soon. Probably do a walnut blasting this summer. Maybe even a JB4 this year...

I look forward to chatting with you all and maybe seeing some of you on the road or at some Midwestern events.

Nice ride. Like that M3 as well. Aren't you glad you went temporarily insane? Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the club.

Yeah I would have regretted not buying her.

Thanks!

have fun with it!
i just picked up a 2013 135is yesterday with all intentions of getting an accessport for it, until today when i called i was told they dont offer an accessport for my specific model....
is thee anything on the market that is the same as what cobb offers?
if not, any suggestions would be appreciated, i am having a hard time figuring out what software "chip" is compatible with my car.
any and all help would be great for a new owner

thanks

Coming here from an E36 coupe myself. You will LOVE your 1er, it does everything your E36 could do, but better. Welcome to the party!

My last car was an E36 M3 also. Went through the same dilemma when searching for a replacement. I test drove a few E46 M3s but I felt they weren't a big upgrade from the E36. Drove my cousins 128i convertible and immediately liked the size and feel of the car. Started searching for a 128 coupe with manual and sport thinking that would be the sensible option. The twin turbo power and torque won me over. Enjoy your new car. I'd look at doing the rear subframe bushings before any other mods. The handling improvement is well worth the effort.

My first BMW was an E36 328, not an M3, but as a last model year coupe (99), it had the M aero body kit and stuff/ I've had 2 other BMWs since then, but I do find my 135 is like going back to that 328, more so than a 335 I drove, or my outgoing E39 540. Of all the cars I've owned in my driving life, the E36 328 was my favorite. After almost a month with my 135 - the 328 has been replaced. I just love the way this car drives, both around town and on highway trips.

That was one pretty E36 M3, fast1eddy.
