New to group
Hello all,
I've finally posted enough to say hi on a new thread. I just picked up a new to me VO 1M. I've been a BMW owner on and off for the past 20 years, primarily E30's. I'd been driving an Mitsubishi Evo 9 MR as my toy as well as an E30 m3 that I've owned for 13 years. After seeing the 1M vs E30 comparisons for some time I decided I'd try to get one and I lucked into an avg mileage one that was very well maintained. Lots of fun so far and it really does have an E30 w/ a turbo kinda feel. If any of y'all are in the Austin area holler at me.

Congrats and welcome, any pics?
Great that the 1M also excites box flare aficionado's. No a biggy, but I really prefer the looks of the more modest 1M stretched wheel well vs the more brute M2 "boxflare". |

Welcome to the fold. I'm. An old e30 owner and the 1m is my first boosted Bimmer and now I'm going to have to figure out how to make my e30 as much fun. Enjoy! |

I've owned 2 E30's over the years. a 325 w/ the eta motor and the M3. I love the cars. Easy to maintain, reliable. When I look under the hood of the 1M I'm like......hmmmm how am I going to work on this....

Lol ... I can relate! Just did the whole front suspension and a tune up preparing for a road trip on the e30 and was so easy and familiar. Changing plugs was twenty minutes versus 20 minutes of removing stuf to get to the plugs on the 1m. My son is dying to boost the m20 . At least there is a little room to do that ..... Good luck with the new toy, it is addictive and fun!
