Also, the inner ring is brighter than the outside ring because they are SO bright, the light doesn't diffuse. I don't think they're too bright, but are brighter than LUX, and they are the closest match to the new BMW angel ayes. They're also available in almost any color temperature, so.. 3000K is yellow, 4300K is stock color, 6000K is pure white, 8000K is white with a hint of blue, 10000K is blueish, 12000K is purple. Lux is great and gives more even light distribution between rings, is more expensive, and less annoying to install; Alpine is also great, comes in a variety of colors, is much more visible during the day even in direct sunlight, is closer to the new BMW lights, is more annoying to install, and is less expensive... Those are pretty much the two "best" angel eye options other than completely replacing the rings or the whole headlight enclosures for lots of $$$.

I was just reading on another thread about BMS angel eyes - but on their site they show unavailable. I wonder if they are even making the lights anymore. Then again - the E8x isn't even listed as an option. I think their color looks great!!! Now to find out if they even do the 1ers.

I have the lux and my dad just got a new 550i. Next time I go home I will take a pic of them side by side to compare. Last time it felt like only on a super bright texas summer day with the sun directly shinning on the headlight could you tell a difference. When the sun is behind you, the lux is almost the exact same. The 5 series (car in the front) below is pretty much what the lux looks like compare to the 7 series amber in the back. During an overcast/ dawn: Pure Sex lol.

Odd, when I view the page it shows in stock or am I looking at the wrong item?

My 128i is on the ship from Germany but I'm looking into mods already. My X3 has bad a** stock angel eyes w/ the factory xenons (why doesn't BMW put those same angel eyes on 1 series w/ xenons?!!!). So, I know the dull yellowish stock angel eyes on the 128i aren't going to work for me. However, I don't really care about matching the intensity of the X3 angel eyes because I don't want to spend over $200 on bulbs. ALL I care about is the color really, I'm not concerned w/ how bright they are or aren't. With that being the case, will the cheap ebay "9W" led kit work for me?
Also, is "9W" the brand name or what? (or do you have a link to them on ebay?)

I had the 9W which looked good. Then I got Burger's 2 LED version which were better. Supposedly the Burger 4 LED version (their current one) is very very good, rivaling Lux.

So did the 9W atleast change the color to more of a white than the dreaded stock yellowish color? Were they atleast as bright as the stock angel eyes?

I'm sure the Burger's are better, but they are also 4x the price

The color was blueish white, but not as bright as the stock. The stocks are very bright at full blast. Even Lux isn't as bright as stock. For $30 they are decent though.

OK, I'll admit I'm confused by all this. I am not sure, looking at the offerings, whether they will work in my scenario or not. I have a 128i with the stock, regular halogen headlights. There are no angel eyes in there that I can see. Seems like some of the things presented in this (and similar) threads are just bulbs that plug into an existing AE setup to make it brighter or whiter?

What I am looking for is a primer on all this. Can I keep the system as a halogen system and add angel eyes to it? Do I have to replace the whole headlight assembly (I think so) and if so can I replace it with halogens with angel eyes for less money than HID or projector lamps and xenons or whatever?

I'm simply looking for a nice look. If the lamps are brighter and/or whiter then so be it, but admittedly all I am looking for is to update the appearance of my car.

I've done searches - is there anyone with a link to a concise explanation of what I have in my car vs. what my options are? Or a possible one-stop upgrade other than the $4K one at the Dealer?

Thanks!

Maybe this would work...

http://www.stealthauto.com/bmw-1-ser...ngel-eyes.aspx

You can always call them to confirm I know a couple of guys that have added Angel eyes to their e46's from Stealth Auto.

The BMS 4 led are a cost effective alternative. I installed them a few weeks ago and am pleased with the results. You should be happy with them.

LUX is by far my favorite so far...I've tried them all just about, so we will see how these compare to LUX.

Post up results. I've tried gp thunder, alpine hid, lux, and wanted to try bms 4 led next. I currently have lux in and am convinced they limit the auto level adjustment when they first turn on and do the vertical dip down thing.. stupid box thing

I picked up these from Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...00_i00_details

They are as bright as stock and much whiter. They are simple plug and play and dirt cheap. I wanted whiter without the hassle and worry about BMW voiding my headlight warranty from HID AAs. I know they would try their best to blame a failure on the aftermarket AAs. Good luck with your decision.

Just got the BMS 4 LED kit today...Gotta wait till tomorrow to install them, but they seem well built. I'll give a review, but i'm not sure about pictures as pics don't show what AE's really look like in person. Also for anyone interested, I'll probably be posting a couple of Alpine HID kits in the for sale section for a couple of friends that are going with the LUX and these BMS AE's. All are the latest version and I think they are 7 or the 8,000k color temps.

Super Bright! I would say the same as Lux for only $130
