Need advice installing LCI Blackline tail lights
I recently purchased some 2nd hand blackline tail lights for my 2009 135i. As far as I'm aware, they should be just plug and play. Once installed, everything but the LED part of the light would work. So in other words, there was no light unless I applied the brakes. The seller refunded my money and was very decent about the transaction. He also said that the lights worked perfectly for him. Which leads me to believe it is something to do with my setup?
I've now decided to buy new from Scheidmann but thought I'd better email them before I bought them just to clarify that they should work. They've come back to me and said I need an adapter cable: http://www.schmiedmann.com/en/produc...1-12-2-219-698 My question is, has anyone else had issues installing these LCI lights on a preLCI car. My reading says I can just plug them in and they should work. I'd rather not buy this extra cable adapter if I don't need it. Can anyone shed some light on what I should do? |

I installed blacklines on both my 08 and 09 pre-LCI 135i's without the need for any sort of adapter. I bought both of mine from Tim at info@individual-cars.com.

I was going to purchase mine from Schiedmann but for the few extra dollars I decided to buy them through BMR, took a long time to get to me but mine was plug and play without an adaptor and my car is also pre LCI

I've ordered a single black line replacement from schmiedman. It came within the week. Much faster than the local seller (mentioned above) which i purchased the original set from. Also cheaper but make sure you order the right ones gl with install.

I installed some Black Lines a month ago on my 2009 Xenon. The weird thing was although I made sure I had the correct "282" part coded lights, upon first installing one on the rear left it seemed to not work correctly.
After cycling the headlight selector switch to all positions and back to off, they then lit in the proper manner... |
