i've never seen him before the Car Show to compare but hes alright, nothing special. The Car Show is better then Top Gear America however Top Gear UK is way better if they ever start showing any new episodes.

+1 The Car Show is quite a bit better than Top Gear America.. inasmuch as I find it actually watchable.. where TGA is basically just complete trash. Clearly both pale in comparison to Top Gear UK. |

I liked the review, sloppy facts and all. It was his honest impression of the car. He didn't over research it. He drove it. I have said the same thing about the lack of extra electronics increasing the odds of it being a future classic. No electric, glass dash to go out of style. No auto or paddle shifters to be passed by with newer technology. The simpler and more pure and raw the car, the more timeless I believe it will be. The "latest technology" is only current until the next thing comes along.
I don't believe it will ever be worth close to $200k, but do think it has all the right stuff to be a rare, iconic model. I plant to keep mine a very long time, so that's a good thing. |

Matt Farah has come a long way since I first helped him film a few years back. I agree with the issue that a lot of facts are either due to lack of product knowledge or just plain wrong, however I think that for what it is it was a nice HD video of a 1 Series M which is really all I cared to pay attention to during that video.

I really dont like the point of view he offers on the show, almost pointless. Just watched his RS4 vs. S4 comparo review recently, nothing insightful. Don't get me wrong I think he's cool as heck and fun to hang out in person, the show, not so much value added besides the good cinematography
My counter point to his 1M lack of electronics is that 1M is already old and ordinary? Is that what he's trying to say? Its already old tech the initial depreciation is gone?

Bummer...this is all I get here in Germany...
Unfortunately, this video is not available in Germany because it may contain music for which GEMA has not granted the respective music rights. Ain't that a bunch of BS...."may" contain...now the digital rights crazies are banning content on the assumption that it "may" not be something. Anyone have a link that "may" work in Germany? |

When I finally got a hold of a BMW dealer near me that was getting a 1 series M, they told me they were only guaranteed 2 cars and already had a waiting list of 6 people.
It will be interesting to see what they sell for in the next few years. I don't think I have the patience to wait. |

There is a firmware update that remaps the mute button to disable processing (hence removing all time delay-->echo). Im not sure if its available on the us or the europe site but its somewhere. Look at the diymobileaudio thread

Also...
Does anyone else find Farah really really annoying? Why?... can't put my finger on it... I just find his reviews (or the way he reviews) irritating
