If you are that concerned you probably should not do anything to your car

That looks great! Will the gauge lights dim along with your dash lights for driving at night?

Do you have the ability to shut the gauge off if you don't wish to see it all the time?

It has 9 levels of brightness independantly adjustable in both day and night mode (so a total of 18)... so if you don't wanna see it, you can just dim it all the way down.

But, an actual off switch would be super easy, just wire a switch onto the ground wire.

Ah, I was just wondering if it was programmed into the chip on the circuit board.

You can disable the light bar graph in the firmware settings menu, so it would just be the digits

I hope there is the option of buying one without the tune button. I don't have a tune so no need to have a button that does nothing.

I don't know how I missed this thread until now, but I'm definitely interrested. That's about as clean as you can get with a boost gauge.

No need for a boost gauge either then. (no tune = no boost increase)

A boost gauge is equally capable of spotting a problem (boost leak, failing / failed turbo) on a non remapped car as a tuned one....

It's a stock car man, a brand new stock car man, Hopefully, if BMW made a half decent car, there should be a fairly good chance that the boost guage tells you what you already know. (Becoming obsolete) To each his own. Seems kinda ricey to me tho just my .02. Hold on......brb I gotta go attatch my huge Super GT wing on the bimmer (it still provides downforce you know...)

I would bet on a ODBII scanner before a boost guage.

^^^ Unless the car happens to have a track record of boost related problems... like bad wastegates, laggy software updates, etc... I know someone who was able to prove his lag to the dealer from 29.2 using a boost gauge, and comparing it to another car... caused the dealer to look into it further.

I autox and would love to see when I am on boost and off boost. I would also like to know my water temp even though the car is stock. I do not need to have a tune to want to know what my car is doing at any given time. More information is always better.

I agree to each his own but the more info you can get from gages on your car the better. Sometimes driving in rush hour traffic is harder on you car than track time. So the more gages the marrier for me and by the way that is a slick set up
