Removing the alignment pins and pushing the strut towers inward adds a few tenths of a degree camber as well, and is free.

I had some minor occasional rub from 235/40/18 Z1 with stock alignment (but autocrossed fine, really not a biggie) but pretty much none with 255/35/18 PSS with the alignment pins removed. I think the combo of slightly shorter tire and the few tenths of camber makes a world of difference. I cannot tell you for certain if the height or camber is more important, but you already have the tires and the car in general desperately needs more camber so that is clearly the answer for you.

Dinan plates (not too aggressive like a billet aluminum set might be, and not too expensive) don't sound like a bad idea, and again, alignment pin removal is free. Do both, get a fresh alignment job, and I bet you'll be super happy with it.

If you really want to go balls out and plan for coilovers down the road real adjustable plates would be a good idea. Increase NVH, but adjustability (sometimes including caster), more direct feel, etc. I highly recommend Vorshlag if you want to go that route.

I was going to buy these wheels until i read this. I want a 'rub free' fitment, and i thought these were supposed to be the answer, but obviously not. Would 3mm spacers help? I have absolutely no intention of running camber plates. Already did all the M3 arms swap and camber pin removal. Running quite low on coilovers with tyre tuck stance.

I would love to get a setup like that, but the wheels can't be found, and I don't feel like ordering a set and hoping I get them six months later. Same with VMR. Great products, but just can't get them (without placing an order with no ETA).

Many people seem to complain about 235/40/18 rubbing. I wonder if you shouldn't just go to 245/35/18.

Keep in mind that will add some rake to the car. For my setup with 255/275 or what I might propose to you to try with 245/265 both on a 35 profile, that's 7mm of rake, or just over 1/4 inch. Not a huge deal in my opinion.

I can attest that I have 0 issues with a 235/40/18 front with PSS. I will say that between the oil cooler when the wheel is at full lock left you only have enough space to fit your finger. Nevertheless it doesn't rub... a 245 would have been optimal to me but I am unwilling to go down to a 35 wall tire. A 245/40 will without a doubt rub at full lock.

Interesting. Stock camber? Even with m3 bits up front I was smashing into my fenders on hard cornering or mild steering and hitting a bump.

Stock camber... maybe BMW changed something along the way... my car is a 12/08 build.

Did Apex change the offsets anytime or maybe the fact that I have Koni Yellows prevents the front end from floating enough to rub?

I just noticed that it seems like everyone that has a newer car seems to be having these issues... I wonder what they changed.
