Just turning the boost to 20psi on a stock engine w/o supporting mods? Id recommend you look into a flash program(cobb or giac) or piggy back(jb or procede.) Either ones are far superior to just a boost controller. To keep the boost down just keep the throttle light, besides at only ~8psi the factory boost setting isn't exactly pushing it.

Like I said, I recommend a flash tune from cobb or giac. Or you can go the pickyback route with jb or procede. The computer in these cars is really good at regulating the boost to reach the desired load target, which means the car will push itself to the boost most appropriate for what it needs. Which is why i'd recommend not going with a boost controller and just setting to say 18psi and hoping... with full bolt ons and meth the DME(computer) may put you near 20psi(and well over 400whp) on its own. Just give the car the wiggle room to make boost and it'll take care of itself

Not sure how it could get any more "by yourself," from the sound of it I highly recommend you do a little more research before doing anything to your car other than one of the tuners or flash programs. You are going to break something.

If I understand correctly you want to be able to change boost/power levels on the fly whenever you want. I recommend you go with one of the piggybacks
Burger Motorsport's Juice Box or Vishnu's Proceed.

The JB offers the ability to run varying maps for given mods, oct, ect. that all have different boost levels. There is a economy map coming as well that will likely run lower than stock boost. Maps can be switched on the fly from the steering wheel.

The Proceed offers similar options. Though I don't think it has the steering wheel control bit. But similar on the fly map switching is available.

I think you'll find the sophistication of the ECU combined with a twin-scroll turbo and valvetronic is way too advanced for such a crude device as a boost controller
