Its a fantastic track....in stock for my car was hitting 140mph on the back straight. The blind crest on the back straight right before the braking zone going into 14 before heading down the roller coaster is a bit scary at first till you get used to holding it down through there. I have a couple vids of my last couple hpde's there. I can post up if you guys want.

^^^I would love to see the vids since I can't be there...cause if I was there I would be with the United crew per usual. Have you driven Road Atlanta is the blind crest on VIR as disconcerting at the blind crest right before that 4-5 story drop to the last curve before the front straight?

This first vid is from my last visit there the weekend of April 23rd. I spent most of my time working on braking and weight transfer so I slowed a bit on the straights (only 120-130ish). Also this instructor had me take a different line than my last time which I wasn't to hot about.
This is from my first event of the year back at the end of feb.

I've been contemplating that visit too....Thinking i'd camp that event to keep costs down this time. I hate paying bills, keep me away from the track lol.

I was thinking about camping too but honestly after a hard day at the track nothing like a good hot shower and a comfy bed hits the spot. I may just do one day instead of two days. too much wear and tear to justify the abuse on the car. also, I am going to wait until the very last day to register. want to make sure the long term forecast is rain free. I know I am taking a gamble and all the slots may fill up but I am done with rainy track days for the year

I feel ya about the bed and hot shower. My friend that camps there often for his motorcycle track days told me there are 2 sets of showers for campers at least that we can use while there. I curious as to their camping fees to as i'm wondering if it's 35 per person a night or 35 per tent too.

Awesome vid. Check out some of Mike Skeen's VIR vids...
Also I'm in Blue too, see ya out there hopefully I'll be taking it easy since this car is brand-new-to-me. If I was in my 05 325 on RComps I'd feel much better.

I'll be camping this weekend too... as far as I know it is $35 for the entire weekend, paid at the gate, but I'm not sure if that's per person or per tent.
Here's a video from last year (have since sold my E36 to Evice (above)). My other buddy (TMc135) passes me in his 1er(JB3) after a lap and I try to keep up. Good times.

Trying to get a couple other buddies to go. Where do you guys actually set up your tents...in the paddock or up in the grassy areas?

Mike Skeen was there at our last session doing ride alongs for private lessons. I watched him go out at lunch with somebody's exige. His warmup and cool down laps were faster than everybody elses fast laps...dude is insane driver. Helluva nice guy to talk to though and very approachable.

Citrus doesn't run again until October. Coastal Empire PCA runs there June 11-12 though. Cost is $200 and the entry list is short. Great for getting some open track time, although sometimes it is fun working your way through a pack of Porsches!

In my experience they put on a very good HPDE weekend and are more laid back/friendly than i expected it/them to be.

^ not being porsche club members, do we get second dibs to spots available? how does that work? I like to sign up for some of their events but I noticed something to that effect that porsche club members get first dibs and then if there are any slots open for the rest of registrants

BTW I use www.Clubregistration.net for events like this...they break it down so you can see HPDE's, AutoX's, Club Races, etc...and they list if it is an "open" event or not....Once you create a profile (with your vehicle type, driving experience, run-group) signing up for your event is just a few clicks and your good to go. Love it!
