Wonky Electronics Glitch
So since I got my car back from the BMW service center after my rims were stolen, something has been draining my battery overnight, every night. The service center has had my car now for a week because according to them "an unknown control module is causing frequent wake-ups overnight and running the battery down" and they've been unhooking modules overnight for days now trying to find the offender.
The only electronics I've put in the car are an OEM iPhone cradle and the LUX bulbs. They've been in since about March/April with no issues. The SA mentioned that he has seen this kind of thing happen to each series of car in the lineup except the 1er. The upside is that I've been cruising around in an E92 335i with Step and I've got to say I've been happy to bomb around NYC and up Rt. 17 in that thing. Not as crisp as the 1er but the suspension is soooo well suited for potholes in the city. The tranny is pretty sweet too, ripping off smooth downshifts predictably while in D and its like an endless wave of torque because that sweet torque converter makes sure you don't lose boost. That being said, I can't wait till I'm back in my car and have a chance to throw my sway bar in. |
