E88 exterior trim removal

Has anybody removed the exterior aluminum trim pieces that go along the top of the doors and around the convertible top lid? Are they just held on with 3m and can the weather seal be removed and replaced after having them PC'd or ano'd? How about the silver pieces that go up the front windshield pillars? Trying to get rid of all exterior chrome/ silver and any input would be appreciated.
