"Thank you for your patience. I was just informed that we even though*cannot send Toyo*brand tires internationally to Australia,*we can ship comparable these brands to your location: Dunlop, Goodyear, Hoosier,*Kumho, and Sumitomo tires."

I then asked about Michelin and he replied they are also prohibited from shipping them to OZ.

I asked about forwarding company and he isn't sure what and if any restrictions they have.

usually if you keep asking with a different salesman you will get a quote for around 200ish.

that is what my friend and I had to do....

don't think they would have an issue with forwarding company, once it is off their hand i don't think they care?

You don't understand how a freight forwarding company works. They simply provide you with a US postal address which you give to places in the US where you buy stuff.

You don't tell the retail place you re in Australia. They don't care.

Thanks Rey,

I did that and no difference, so in the end I paid the $410 for shipping.
I'd rather buy locally but even with stupid shipping rates, I'm still saving.

I just email one of the online saleman at tire rack for a quote for 2 Michelin Pilot Super Sports to be delivered to Australia
As i just bought the rears from tire rack a couple of weeks ago.
We shall see what they say.
You should be able to ship the tyres to US address and then ship to Australia
I have 2 US addresses one with very good shipping costs with Fedex.

Whaat noo, how annoying, i wanted some pss when mine wore out

So now you gotta pay $50 odd to ship the 4 tyres within the country

$20 or whatever more in brokers fees.. Pretty well $100 extra to get them here

Still.. $300-$350 a tire, ship 2 at a time to stay under $1000 hopefully an you'd have a set of 4 that'll run no more than $1800 instead of $3k

Try ebay here and usa or baan velgen. that's what I do

tire rack is usually >$1k so too much hassle anyway. there's also a few shops around sydney selling grey imports at okish prices too

That's interesting.
I just ordered a set of PSS today, did the money transfer an all and delivery is to Melbourne from Tirerack direct. No mention of not being able to ship them.

I hope they don't cancel my order.

ha ha, no not quite, it's for the family car, CX-9!
I'm getting PSS in 255/45/20, no more truck tyres for me thanks! They're kinda close enough to the stock 245/50/20 it came with.

Good Gary. Having bought a pair of rear 255/35/18 PSSs & a Toyo 888 from Tyrerack a few months ago I'm now keen to get a set of front 225/40/18 PSSs. Maybe we can combine the order & split the shipping.

You may risk getting stung by customs fees over $1k though?
