I have not heard the Dinan but I have driven a 135 with the BMW performance exhaust on it. It has a very nice sound. It has more of a growl or a rasp to it compared to the stock muffler. However, it is not a loud exhaust. I would say it is maybe 10-15% louder then stock at the most. I would think the Dinan would be louder. The BMW performance exhaust has a really nice high quality look and sound to it. You only notice it inside the car with the window down (nice growl). I drove it back to back with a stock 135 and I could not feel any difference in power.

There are several people with the Dinan exhaust, myself included.
The Dinan exhaust is louder than stock, but it's definitely not intrusive. The BMW exhaust removes the resonator, however, so it might be a bit louder. Here's a couple picture of the Dinan exhaust: |

I thought about trying to run the Dinan with the resonator delete from the BMW Performance Exhaust, but need someone to pick up the axleback from the performance exhaust before I do that.

I really like the Dinan tips but an aggressive sound is more important to me...so it sounds like the BMW exhaust will have the better sound...

I ran into a fellow 1addict at BMW Northwest in WA. he was kind enough to take me for a ride in his Alpine white 135i with Dinan Stage 1 Suspension,Camber plates, Dinan Exhaust, and a wider set up with Breyton's GTR's. And I love the the look of the Drop! the exhaust I had higher expectations for. It did sound louder than stock a bit raspy and a lower tone growl. I was hoping for a lil more sound! but it did look damn GOOD!!!! Even though I want a louder (not obnoxious ) exhaust I will more than likely go with it! I called Dinan a couple of days ago and they told me that their software has a spot for their exhaust! So it will be tune to the exhaust!
I'm not too sure that would make a huge diff. But it sounded good to me. ( yes I'm a newbie to the tuning world)

I've been trying to find someone that doesn't want their Y-pipe. I've also been considering the CP-E resonated mid pipes. |

Down pipes are not loud. I had the RR downpipes on my otherwise stock exhaust, its not loud at all. Very close to sounding completely stock.
This might be a different story with a full exhaust like the RR exhaust.....but on on a stock car, not loud.
