Riss Racing OCC Install - FAIL
OK, Everyting was going great, install was going very well. I was able to get everything off the car. Did not drop anything or break anything. I had eveything ready to install onto the car when the FEDEX guy rang the doorbell.
Then.... I open the OCC kit and started to assemble the tubes. Guess what??? They sent me two of the same size hoses. The right side hose does not fit the connector. There is suppose to be a big one and smaller one. I can not complete the install. Worse of all I have to reinstall on the OEM parts and put the car back together. Dennis

Yes, thanks for your suggestion. That would have been idea but it did happen that way. I was trying to get a head start on it. To tell you the truth I most likely would not have noticed even if it did happen that way. I would have open it up, check to see there was a OCC and two hoses.

Also, why would you come on here and complain about it first instead of contacting Riss Racing. Yeah it's their fault, but what good is going to come from a post like this other than you getting flamed for disassembling your car before making sure you had the correct parts to put it back together. I can sympathise with the situation I suppose. Good luck. EDIT: When I got my install kit the hoses were already connected to their adapters, so there was no way they could have been the wrong ones. Perhaps RR has been changing things up a bit. Sucks. |

Quick trip to the auto store and 2 bucks, problem solved. Sorry, I just needed to vent earlier.
On a side note, there was no instruction included with the kit. (Didn't matter to me but it may to others)

There's just not a lot of QC at Riss Racing. I can tell you that from experience. I just checked my OCC kit and it looks ok, but I've been sitting on it for weeks now because I just dread what might go wrong with the installation. When it comes to Riss "bolt-ons" you never know how it will go.

Sure, in hind sight it's easy to say that removing the oem parts was a mistake but I don't see it that way. |

It is always a bad idea to start taking parts off before actually having the parts... |

Just the other week I received my Performance Steering Wheel from Dan at United, when it go here I took a quick look at it and it seemed like everything was there. On the weekend I brought it to BRracing to do the install. The took everything out and inspected it before doing anything on the car. It turns out the clock spring had some broken tabs and part of the wheel was a little chewed up. If they would have started the install and then found out it was broken I would have been out the labor for the time they spent on it and they would have had to put the stock wheel back on. Now I'd also like to point out that I sent a message to Dan on Saturday and I didn't hear back. I check in with him again Monday and he let me know that a new wheel was on the way and Fedex would be by to pick up the old one. Great customer service . What I didn't do was go post something on the forums first thing. Give vendors a chance to make things right before you go on the forums posting about a negative experience. It really doesn't help anyone to post it here.

Saying it was a mistake for him to start taking his car apart means that he should've expected that the parts wouldn't be the right ones. Have we gotten to the point now that we should expect that companies are going to F up orders? I would've figured after all thats gone on lately that RR would've gotten it right too. Can't see how the OP is at fault here. I guess that we can't post general stuff that happens while modifying our cars without getting ridiculed in some way.
