The ship was due in this morning at 6am and had I known earlier, I could have got to work a little early and taken some decent photos with a proper camera. Ah well. You can see this thread to get an idea of what you missed.
Hi Guran, haha i actually did a quick Google search earlier to check if Port Kembla had any live cameras on the net to no avail. Thanks for taking the photo, now i can imagine my car coming off the boat a little more vividly ;-)

the tracking website said that the car was discharged at 12.55pm -- i forgot about your thread with the boat photos, awesome!

As the wait - you wait one month to get into production, if you order now you may get into April production or MAY, then it will finish at the end of month. Wait 10 days in the dock to get into ship and the ship in my case take over 1 month to get to Melbourne. Then take 2 weeks to get compliance plate and pre delivery detailing.

I ordered Dec 27 last year and seeing it first week of May.

Oil is Castrol and I will use Castrol 0W40 dispite the dealer said 5W30. Just need to warm up car before going hard.
Wait, why do you need to warm up the car more with 0W40 compared to 5W30? It's the other way around. I am trying the Castrol that all the M cars use, 10W60 because my car is subject to harsh conditions. The higher viscoscity will help when the temperature gets really high (I am seeing 145 degrees everytime I am on the track!).

Thanks for the replies... I'll definitely be changing the oil/filter earlier, probably 3K.

Mine is a November Built and first scheduled service is 15k. But get this, I rang up BMW service centre and apparantly if you drive your car hard the car 15k scheduling should automatically reduce to 14k, 13k.......10k etc. But I found this hard to believe. Has anyone else been told this and is this for '09 model only???

It's just like my R56 Mini? The computer seems to calculate when your service is needed depending on how you drive the car.

It's called condition based servicing: harder you drive = shorter the service intervals.

Overall it makes sense if you want to maintain your car in top condition.
