Problem with UUC shortshifter

I recently install the UUC shortshifter, it's very good compare to the bmw SSK, it's shorter and feel more soild. The problem that I am having is.. everytime when I shift to 1-3-5-R, I have a weird clicking noise.. is this normal? I double checked everything and I have plenty of lube.. can someone with this shortshifter kit tell me if it's normal? Thanks.

Are you comparing it to the BMW SSK or just the stock manual transmission? Just wondering since I have the BMW one.

I've heard that the UUC is shorter than the BMW's 8% decrease in throw...it's something like 20%....also height is adjustable.

I would like to buy one but I've heard bad things about UUC lately...there is a thread on here about them not sending parts out for months after payment has been sent.

I've had a couple UUC SSK on different BMW and it is normal for them to have a "clicky, notchy" sound at first. It typically smooths out and sounds less clicky after a week or so of driving and allowing the grease to work in.

yup. Mine seemed abnormally notchy at first but it got considerably quieter after a few weeks.

that clicky, notchy sound is normal for ssk's with a metal ball joint. bmw's ssk dosent sound like that cause they use a plastic ball joint. the sound will go away and smooth out over time.

It takes over a month before the clicks goes away, of coz that depends on how many miles you drive and how many time you shift, but it took that long for me.

Love mine, its like my 5th one I've had, 2 in E36 M3's, 1 in an E46 M3 and 1 in my E30 M3, and now the 135i, would'nt consider any other brand.

I was just going to suggest that as well as it seems spot on for the noises involved.
