Engine start up - Clanking?

Whenever I start up my engine, I hear a clanking sound in the first second or two of the start up. It's not a smooth start up and it happens regardless of if it's a cold start or if it's warmed up. It's like something is loose inside and it's being shaken around.

Is this normal? Car runs fine otherwise. No abnormal lights.

Car has 750 miles on it.

Is your car usually in a garage when you start it up?

I hear the noise too, but it's only really noticable when I'm in the garage, or next to a wall where the noise reflects back.

It's my assumption that it's the wastegates closing.

Similar questions have been asked quite a few times and usually the culprit is the flapper valve in the exhaust. You could try the golf tee mod and see if it goes away in order to confirm this.

It usually is in the garage when I start it up in the morning, yes.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. I'm pretty confident that it's not an abnormal thing now.

It doesn't sound very healthy though I have to admit.

I get a noise too but it's more of a "tinny" noise than a clanking.
