A little thread revival. They've finally opened up a station here that sells e85 (albeit a 45 min drive from me) and I'm pondering adding some to the local 93Oct. thats usually in the tank on top of a 60/40 water meth mix.

I don't need the flex fuel wires with the meth kit right? Any tune changes? Be interesting to see what it does power wise..

Look up 400whp E series N55, you wont find any. There is proof right there.
Every dyno I see (not virtual) is like 380~ at the most

Better off putting money towards a turbo upgrade

The little snail can only do so much

Oh ok i misunderstood my bad and 380 whp can be acheive with which fuel and mods?

Im fbo n55 x drive on 94 octane . Im guessing im at 335 whp right ? Id like the remainig 45 who before i upgrade to PS2 !

It's the highest I have ever seen, N55 makes more torque on stock turbo, but no one ever looks at that lol

Probably, dono, not all hp is equal anyways

I got unexpected results on the dyno today. I had the BMS Methanol Injection kit recently installed on my 2016 428xi and the numbers showed more power output to the wheels on Map 2 than on Map 3. 50/50 methanol mix.

With the BMS Meth kit is there a way of knowing when the meth is spraying? Would it be better to run Map 7?

Update: I had a leaky fuel injector, I was getting a misfire code on cylinder 2. It was causing the JB4 to bounce back to Map 0 for safety precautions. Everything's working great now, probably around 300whp

Forget about dyno numbers and look at 1/4 mile trap speed. Dynos lie, trap speed doesn't, and from the trap speed it will be extremely obvious that no stock turbo N55 is getting even close to 400 whp.

114.5 is a strong trap for N55. Judging from N54 traps and dynos an honest 400 WHP would be very high teens or maybe 120ish max. Keep in mind even the most unrealistically optimistic dynos don't hit 400 WHP for stock turbo N55. It will depend on the weight in your car too, many people serious about drag racing are probably taking out the back seats and maybe the passenger so that can add a MPH or two.

For those running E30 + Meth on a N55 engine, I have some questions:

1) What JB4 settings are you using on the JB4? Specially FOL, my car is getting the 2BC0 CEL code for partial load too lean.

2) What Ethanol mix are you getting in your tank and what Water/Meth mix are you using?
