Been in high alert mode as mine was loaded on the Asian Emperor, which arrived yesterday in NJ (and I guess will be trucked to PCD). With Irene about to say hello, not sure if it was better for her to stay on the Emperor or risk flooding in Elizabeth NJ tucked away in a hanger (if not in the open!) Though looking at the vessel, it embarked straight down south, so no doubt rough seas await her, but lighting a candle nightly that all will be good

Uncertain, but if you are scheduled for a PCD I believe the car gets off the boat in Charleston, SC.

Unless he did ED, then it will always be NJ for East Coast deliveries.

Usually about 48 hours from the first weld to the completed car.
But that includes the built in holds.

After the body is completed its put in a collection bay with others before going to paint. After paint its put in a holding bay again before assembly. After assembly it goes in a holding bay before shipping.

This is so if one part of the factory has to shut down for a while for some reason, the others can just continue thanks to the stock in the holding bays.

Actual time spent working on the car is around a day.

When people track their cars on the BMW USA system they may see a week, but thats because it shows" īn production" for cars that are in the completed cars holding bays waiting final inspection before shipping
