Stage 3 Gas Milage?

I did try searching this first but keep getting no results... Maybe it's because I'm on my phone... But I'm wondering what gas Milage is like stock(I'm getting 22 according to the puter) vs stage 1 vs stage 3 Dinan. Any info would be great! Thanks in advance. I know I know... Already putting 92 in and don't much care about cost... But it seems like I fill up a ton... And I'm wondering if I'll make it grocery shopping and back with stage 3 without a fill-up lol.

I get 19-21 around town, up to 26-29 on the highway with my E92, depending on whether I'm using the A/C and how heavy my foot is. Cruising the interstate, I've done 29 MPG on a 120-mile trip. I have S3, Dinan CAI and Free-Flow exhaust, ETS 5" intercooler and ER Sport oil cooler.

As a contrast, my wife's 128i with BMW PE as the only mod gets 25 MPG commuting 12 miles each way to work, some of which is fairly heavy traffic. On the highway, we can get 26-28 MPG - but the speed limits out where we are vary from 70-80.

Oh wow! Good numbers, thanks a bunch. I was going to get the Dinan oil cooler and intercooler as well as an LSD... Then go stage 3. Thinking maybe an intake to let it breath would be a good idea as well.

Adding a tune usually isn't what causes you to get worse mileage. With a tune you can easily keep the RPMs down and drive like a civilized person, which is what keeps your gas mileage the same as stock. However, it's a lot more tempting to floor it and drive in a way that isn't conducive to good mileage, so usually people see a slight decrease in mpgs. It's not like you're adding physical displacement to the engine, and you're not guzzling up any extra fuel until you start pushing the engine more, so if you drive the same it'll stay the same.

To my surprise i'm down a full mpg un tuned currently in my car. I think i just end up running more RPM with the car now to keep up how i used to. Once again i get to floor it for a while as it builds speed.

I've had cobb st 1 and st2 before this.

not extremely applicable, but my dinan s2 n55 gets 19.99999 (never. f'n. hits. 20.)mpg in mixed traffic.

and by mixed traffic i mean creep 'n' beep on the freeway, and creep 'n' beep on the streets. it'll do 26~28 on the freeway if there's no traffic, which is pretty good for dct.

My mileage has only gone UP after the tune.

I never, EVER cruise at 60 on the highway...out here, speed limits are a minimum of 70, and I'm generally at 75-80. I get my best mileage on the road by keeping RPMs below 3000.

Thanks for all the replies... I need to put a post-it on my dash to remind me about 6th gear lol... Computer always either says 21.9 or 22.1... I put 92 octane in... I'm assuming that's what everyone runs? No clue where I'd get 91 what the book says... Once I topped off from 3/4 tank and put 89 in... Figured 1/4 89 plus 3/4 92 = 91!

It's funny because just this past week CA has had a huge increase in gas prices, so naturally i've tried to keep it mellow and not get into boost that much - The best mileage I ever saw before any mods was 20.6 all around, as of yesterday i'm averaging 20.4. Pretty much the same gas mileage with over 100hp/tq more on Cobb Stage 2.
