Detailing...
Does anyone know where to get a decent set of wheel brushes to clean these bastard wheels?
Also some kind of decent gel or cleaner that requires mininimal effort? I've used P21S and its junk on these wheels.. Thanks peps! |

I use P21S and it works great!!! But it does not work by itself...you can't spray it on and wash it off. I got a really nice microfiber wheel brush from AutoZone (purple, big), and it works like a champ...perfect thickness to get in between the caliper and the wheel so it cleans both at the same time...
P21S is gentle enough to not peel wax protection off of wheels if you have it waxed...great stuff.

I cleaned my wheels on the weekend with meguiars non-acidic wheel cleaner. Still a pain though. But I put some wheel wax on after I'd cleaned them so hopefully next time will be an easier job.
Meguiars hot rims is very good but it is acidic. I used it on my 350z wheels for 4 years without any ill effects so I think I'll be going back to that.

Once you've cleaned your wheels give them a good dose of Armor All Wheel Protectant. I find it makes cleaning them the next time a lot easier with the high pressure blaster.

Kris..I dont find my wheels hard to clean at all..
They still get very dirty but cleaning is just a wipe with a cloth or wash with a soapy sponge. I gave them a wax when new. In the past on previous beemers I have changed the pads to dustless but found the braking wasnt as good as the BMW pads.. |

i find the easiest tool to clean a wheel with are those hand mits for washing cars. i just get a cheap cotton one and you can get into all the little crevices, assuming you dont have giant hands!
i tried using a silicon spray to cover the wheels (while covering the brakes) and it seems to have held up pretty well. |

seem to work for me, in that it was just a simple wipe the next time dirt collected. i just got an old cloth to cover up the calipers and disc as i wasnt too sure what it would do to it. give it a shot and see how it goes.
