Replaced rear brakes and wear sensor alarmed after install

I replaced my front and rear brakes. On the rears I just installed new pads (cool carbons) and a wear sensor because I couldn't get the rotors off and when I measured them they were less than 1mm thinner than the new rotors I bought (and still have). When I reset the wear sensor it originally re-calibrated to like 95000km (on the fronts I installed new pads and rotors, reading was 110000km) then a week or two later I got a warning light that the rear brakes need to be replaced in 1500km (fronts still said 110000km)... So I tried to reset the sensor again and screwed up both the front and rear readings and now I always get the warning light.
Does the rear wear sensor somehow detector rotor thickness (seems unlikely)? Maybe just a connection issue (seems doubtful they stick in there pretty good)? Any other suggestions on what I should do?
Thanks.

So you replaced BOTH front(LF) and rear(RR) brake pad wear sensors?

And then you reset them with my DIY ?

DIY resetting service "due" lights…

You are getting a red or yellow light like this --> (0) or like this... (0) with the kms under the circles. ?

I think you are talking about 2 things. The wear pad sensors that attach to the brake pad and the service interval indicator system.

The wear pads are a go/no-go sensor. They don't measure anything, they simply open a circuit when the tips of the sensor are worn down. Your Service level indicator counts down the time/miles from a pre-set point. It does not measure anything either except time and miles.

Nothing that I know of on our cars measures the rotor thickness.

I replaced both the front and rear wear sensors and used your DIY exactly and at first I got the correct results. The alarms were reset, it showed 94000km until next pad change on the rears and I thought it was finished. Now I get the red 'parking brake light' illuminated always which says rear pads need to be replaced. I did the computer scan using the BC button and it said front brakes: 110000km and rear brakes: 1300km (a week after I did my brakes). I reset again hoping it would go back to 90000km+ but instead my front brakes: ??? And rear brakes: ??? And when I turn the car off now I get the red symbol of the car on the hoist thing.

I agree. My wear sensors are brand new and the pads are brand new. They sensors cannot be reading anything wrong from a thickness standpoint. I reset the computer using the DIY and again it seemed to work... Then it just changed back and said replace rear brakes. I didn't have this issue on the fronts and the only difference with the fronts is I also installed new rotors. But there is no way that just because I used the original rear rotors that the car alarmed because of that.

Maybe you damaged the wear sensors. They're really easy to break.

I will Check but when I first installed it it worked. Small chance I damaged the sensor afterwards... When you stick it in there and hear the click it wouldn't come loose.

I put new pads/sensors in last weekend at 53000km and both front and rear are reading 50000km left after reset now, each car must be different.
