M3 Rear Control Arms

Hi guys, I plan on having my rear subframe bushing replaced next month and I was wondering that since I am doing so, I may as well change the sway-bar and Control arms to M3 stuff too. Does anyone have any experience with this and would I need additional parts to make it fit?

BTW I did do a search but it just seems to be more confusing than helpful.

Thanks

I just ordered the upper rear control arm kit from ECS tuning. Going to do the install this weekend. I already did the M3 subframe bushings as well as the front M3 arms. My rear sway bar is still stock as I don't have a limited slip diff. You'll be happy with the results. Swap out your stock springs and struts/shocks too if you have the budget.

You better decide now will you have LSD?
If yes... at the same swap your rear sway because you will have to lower the subframe for replacing it

My advice is to leave the rear sway bar stock if you are going to track your car. A stiffer rear sway bar may result in a more fun feeling on street, but most people who've tried it say it results in slower lap times on track, with or without LSD. There are a few people who have LSDs, very stiff suspensions and very wide rear tires who've said it helped, but they are exceptions. Most people who try it on track end up putting the stock sway bar back.

I strongly recommend the M3 rear arms including aftermarket toe arms, such as Rogue or Megan Racing. They were the last piece that made my car finally feel right and handle securely.

I plan on doing the LSD in the future (maybe somewhat distanced), for this year my goals are to get all the M bits out of the way (sways, bushings, control arms...) and then play with the shock and springs next year.

Is there a preference between Megan and Rogue rear toe links? I haven't heard anyone say a bad word about the Megan links so I'm favouring these.

Comments appreciated.

I had RE toe arms and gave them away after a few months because the spherical bearings got clunky. Get Megan's toe arms.

I don't know. HPA Shop sells replacement ball joints for the Rogue, but I haven't needed them yet. Several people have posted that they think the Megan toe links are more reliable.

On Wednesday I received (but have not yet installed) the toe arms from HPA. The came with FK Bearings rod ends http://www.fkrodends.com/which appear to be of good quality. That said, when they wear out (and they will) I'll just replace them. If it seems to me to have happened too quickly I'll just get NHBB or Aurora rod ends instead. No big deal.
