FS: TC Kline Ride Height Adjusters and #500 Eibach 10" linear springs

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
Springs still available....Ride Height Adjusters SOLD

Up for sale are TC Kline Ride Height Adjusters (RHAs) and Eibach #500, 10" 2.5" id springs.

Selling the RHAs for $140 shipped, CONUSA and the springs for $90 shipped CONUSA.

I purchased everything new around 4 months ago: Ride height adjusters direct from TC Kline and Eibach springs from Amazon. The adjusters sell for $160 + shipping, new, and Eibachs were $60+ each, shipped.

RHA's
According to the TCK website, the RHA's are compatible with E9X non-M, E82, and F30.

The RHA's are the same as what's sold with TCK E82 and E9X non-M coilover kits. They can be used with either 60MM springs or 2.5" id.

I put less than 3000 miles on both, and the adjusters were wrapped in Saran Wrap while on the car, so condition is basically as good as new.

On my 328i, I could achieve ZSP ride height with the springs shown and the adjusters set to 1 5/8". So with these springs, I could lower the rear by roughly 1 5/8".

Springs
#500 lb springs were definitely a noticeable increase on a 328i and I would think the same for an E82. Somewhat less of an increase for 335i, but they do have the benefit of being very linear.

Ride height change is a function of:
The spring weight and height of your spring.
The sprung weight of your car, specifically the amount bearing on the spring.
Any other adjustments by ride height adjuster or rubber insulators.

Per my comments, on my E90, using a 500# and no rubber insulators, I set the adjuster to add an additional 1 5/8" height. So, I could lower by roughly 1 5/8 if so desired. If I had a 9" 500# spring, I could lower roughly another inch (not that I am recommending anything of this sort).

Per your comment on Eibach springs: if you have springs similar to the ones I'm selling, which are boxed at both ends, they may be compatible. BUT if you have Eibach pro kit or Eibach sportlines, which have pigtailed ends similar to oem springs, they will not work.

I have a raked look on my 128i with H&R springs so this can lower it just slightly if I wanted to in the rear?

yes, as long as you use a 2.5 id spring, such as the one I'm selling or a 60mm spring. I don't think you would get good results with your H&R rear spring since I believe they are pigtailed at the ends like most oem type sport springs.

I think you will be able to go as high as oem sport suspension ride height. It will depend somewhat on the size of the spring and spring rate. To illustrate:

Before I bought, I measured the distance between the rear subframe and the bottom of the lower control arm (where the bottom of the spring seats). The distance was slightly over 10". I knew my sprung corner weight was roughly 750# and would deflect the 500# spring by around an 1.5". So I estimated setting the ride height adjuster to add an additional 1 5/8" to achieve ZSP.

I could have lowered my rear, by approximately 1 1/4". If I used a 9" 500# spring, then roughly 2 1/4" (not that I would ).

okay tracking now. Thank you. That would not benefit me unfortunately.

Off the car, decide on desired ride height (say relative to what you have now) set the height adjuster to compensate for your spring size and expected deflection, given your target. I measured the distance between the bottom of the subframe and the bottom of the swing arm, and made allowances for omitting spring cushions). Simply adjust along the threads and install with the springs. Once installed, the load of the spring with swing arm reconnected should be sufficient to prevent unintended changes in height...even more so once loaded with the car weight.

If you want to adjust on the car, I think you would require a spanner wrench and thrust sheets. I pretty much knew what I wanted so I didn't explore this...and you should probably corroborate this if it's a requirement, as I didn't do it.

Worst case, if you changed your mind and wanted to adjust from your original target, you could disconnect the swing arm
