dct, its my wifes daily driver and a vert not a track car...
Ordered it with no cold weather package, no navigation, and no assisted steering. Didn't want the extra weight, we both think navigation systems make cars look more dated in 5 years than anything else, and I was clueless to what the steering option was for and I could save 1500 without it. She didn't like the looks of the carbon fiber side mirrors or spoiler so left that off as well. And she picked the colors which I was against at first but have come to really like. It does have the upgraded sound system and a set of pilot super sports in 225/40 and 255/35 still on the 313 stock rims. Other than a sensor needing replaced in the trunk concerning the top being able to come down its been a perfect car. She will probably keep it for many years to come. I don't plan on many major upgrades in the near future while its still under warranty, but I might surprise her with a package from dinan in another year or so. |

Kouper - I have a coworker up here in he Bay Area with a BSM 135is vert
Nothing like driving your other cars to make you appreciate the E82. Been driving my E34 a lot lately. Took the 135is out today and woo! What a great time.

God I love that color. Looks great against the snow, too. I'd love to see the looks on the other people's faces if they were walking back to their cars. |

IEDEI: Which car did better in the snow? I'm only talking about regular driving and possibly having to go through back roads. Nothing too fast/extreme and definitely no donuts involved. Also, what tires (size) do you use?

Investigating a MFactory Helical LSD for my DCT. I remember somebody on the 135is forum just had it installed.
Who are you? Where are you? Thoughts?

I take back what I said about driving in the snow looks like it could get old quick. What you were doing in that video looks like it would never get old.

As much as I love driving in the snow, I can't stand pushing snow around with my front bumper, so I'm very careful to avoid those situations. Have you ever damaged the front bumper of your 135is or 1M in the snow? What about the plastic air deflector bits at the bottom of the bumper?

I thought the 135is was pretty good in the snow, however one of the weaknesses is that when i was at a red light (stopped) and then the light turned green, the 135is would have difficulty going from a standstill in the snow....that and also on unplowed roads i sometimes had mild issues changing lanes as one of the wheels would lose traction and the car would get squirrely. I think overall the 135is was very good in the snow though with these tires. I think the 1M is better in the snow mainly due to the LSD 'uniting' the rear wheels to gain traction....it feels like there is a bit more control in regular driving. In doing donuts, the 1M is much easier to create long slides in...and i think again that's only due to the LSD. Overall though, i feel the 135is was also a lot of fun in the winter and i NEVER had any issues driving through any storms in it....even in deep snow. It's all about the right tires though! These Nokian tires are unbelievably good in snow. Also in both cars, the traction control is VERY intrusive when it snows...which creates a big dilemma though----do you turn it off and risk not having safety aids or do you just need your car to move instead of the traction control just flashing all the time and letting you go nowhere!? I am constantly playing with the traction control light in the 1M and also did the same thing when i had the 135is. Quote:
