N55 midpipe, N54 muffler on a 128i

I read in this forum that some folks installed N55 midpipe with 135i muffler on their 128i. I assume they used n55 muffler. The sound is awesome. I know the n55 muffler sounds a little louder than the N54 muffler due to more perforations in the N54 muffler.

Curious if any of you used n55 midpipe pairing with n54 muffler on a 128i. If you do/did, please share your comments and sound clips if any, I greatly appreciate it.

I have an n54 muffler from my 2008 135i and just bought an n55 midpipe on eBay. Plan to get them installed on my 128i after modifying the upstream flanges on the midpipe. I also plan to delete the resonator on the n55 midpipe. I just don’t want to spend more $$$ to purchase a used n55 muffler if the difference in sound is not by much especially with the resonator delete. Looking at the internal pictures of the two muffler, the difference is only limited to the extra perforations on the n54 internal pipes.
