Got my CCW Classics!

Specs are:
7.5" Front ET 32
9" Rear ET 44
Comp grey centers with a polished lip

The guys at CCW are very helpful, and gave me updates and progress pictures. They also sent the wheels out 2nd day air!
I wanted to keep the factory tires and keep the sizing somewhat close to stock, and that is what CCW came up with and I love the fitment. It gives the car an agressive stance.
The wheels are flush with the fenders, in some pictures it looks like they a poking out a bit, but they are not. I just snapped some quick photos with my cell phone.
Now I just need to get a set of springs, I want it 3/4" - 1" lower than stock. Any reccomendations on a nice set of springs?

That's awesome that CCW did a custom job for you! Usually, no this board at least, specialists like FLOSS generally have to refinish/rebarrel and modify a set of CCW's to get them to fit right on the 1er. Awesome that you got it right from the manufacturer. They look absolutely amazing.

If you're looking for just springs vs. coilovers, Eibach pro-kit springs or H&R sport springs ("regular" sport, not OE sport or super sport) will get you around the drop you're looking for. Obviously, it's better to have height adjustable coilovers for fine tuning, but you still can't really go wrong with eibach or h&r. The BMW performance suspension springs don't drop you much at all (about the same as the OE sport springs form h&r). I would still highly recommend ST/KW V1 coilovers if you're interested in a drop. They're the best "bang for the buck" coilovers I know of for the 1 series - reliable, good quality, pretty cheap compared to AST, Ohlins, etc, and good handling. They are not dampening adjustable, but provide a perfect balance between sporty, comfortable, and safe handling on the street from the factory, height adjustable, and plain awesome. I didn't think I'd even need height adjustability, but I ended up pretty low on my STs and had to eventually raise it when I got 19" wheels. I'm glad I got coils instead of springs in this case! I know you're probably not going to get rid of the CCWs for at least a long while (I wouldn't!) but the possibility of needing a height change in the future is always something to think about. Then again, only you know what your plans for the car are, so if you want springs, plenty of people on here run them vs. coilovers and almost everyone is happy

The wheels fitment is exactly where I wanted it to be, CCW did a great job...thanks for the compliments.

I want to go springs rather than coilovers because it just makes more sense to me. It is my daily driver, and I only want about an inch drop. I have had a few cars with coilovers on them, and never once did I adjust the ride height after I installed them. I understand the advantages to coilovers, but I would rather just go with springs. Thanks for all the input, it is very useful!

I can't see how you wont rub in the back with a drop. Maybe thinner tires + a roll + a slight pull

ccw makes custom wheels to order all day every day. "complete custom wheels". the remanufacturing jobs i've seen around here are primarily on BBS wheels.

the specs aren't really my cup of tea, but they look great. enjoy.

Very nice and should look great with a drop. I'm in St Paul every month so maybe I'll see your car around

Well, yeah, I assume CCW is like HRE and other big names that don't even release the offsets. But that's expensive. Around here, we don't seem to like that considering we are all running cheapo wheels. Even though FLOSS doing his thing is expensive too, I'd imagine him refinishing a pre-existing set is not nearly as much as getting a custom CCW set. Very cool of OP to go the "real" CCW route.

you can ask CCW to determine offsets for you if you don't know, but normally they expect the buyer to provide specs for the wheels. CCW will not withhold offsets of their wheels like companies like HRE. that's just a pathetic effort at protecting their "expertise".

I don't want the car slammed. I want a little bit of wheel gap actually. I don't think it will rub...the tires are 245 in the rear and 215 fronts. That's why I only want an inch drop, maybe even less. Is there any springs that only drop the car 3/4"?

Yup that was me. That poor kid didn't know what hit him. he wasn't ready for that road. Stock 330xi on all season tires. worst part is we were only 3 miles into a 100 mile run. One of my favorite routes through the valley

Yeah that went south fast. I would love to do the drive again. So you got rid of the m3 and got a 135?

I do that drive probably 5-6 times a year. Better with a couple car vs 13. doesn't attract so much negative attention.

Ya, I sold the M to a guy in Alabama.

Bought a e93 last night for the wife. Went to look at new coupes & left with a decked out drop top

Congrats on the new car!

I'm sure that drive would be much more enjoyable with less cars.

Dude.. what are you talking about? lol
If you want CCWs, you order through CCW. You provide them the exact size, width, offset/backspacing, lip size, etc. that you want and they make it for you.
CCWs cost significantly less than any other custom wheel manufacturer. Expect $1k less than most others.

FLOSS takes existing wheels and refinishes/rebarrels them to fit our cars. It's usually cheaper to get a set through him than to custom order a set from CCW, even though CCWs are generally cheaper than other custom wheels. Easier and cheaper to get a brand-new looking set from FLOSS than to order new, but it's still pretty expensive. He's pretty popular here on the forum.
