I don't think its as bad as putting a M badge on a non M car (I'm Debadged BTW). But hey to each his own. I had sun spots on the roof and I figured it will be more cost effective then getting it repainted

I was deciding between gloss black or textured carbon. Decided on carbon bc I already have a bunch of carbon fiber pieces on the car (diffuser, spoiler, splitter, headlight eyebrow). Def looks better in person and goes well with my other carbon pieces.

I think it looks good. I had done this with 3M Di-Noc when I had my Rsx, and it actually got a lot of compliments. After it was weathered, took it off, and changed to gloss black for a new look. Beats painting to fix sun damage over the years.

Is it matte or gloss though? 3M di-noc has gloss carbon wrap now so it's between the one you got and that one but yours is better priced.

Its gloss. From what I understand di-noc is thicker than the 1080 wrap. So the 1080 takes less heat to stretch it. Here is a link to show you the difference.

This is correct, Di-Noc is thicker than 1080. The pro's with Di-Noc is the under thatching on the adhesive side that allows it to be very versatile compared to other vinyls. You can basically crunch the whole sheet up into a ball and put a little heat to it and it will take on its original form. I have not worked with the gloss style yet, however, I plan on giving it a whirl when I do the roof on my 128.

You may spot me from time to time as my girlfriend still lives out by Waterford / White Lake area. If the waves are keeping you from doing it, you'd be better off going with Di-Noc, because like he stated, it is thicker and less prone to minor stretching during application.

Oddly enough there is a 1 series commonly parked outside a place in my 50 or so house suburb off airport road. Also red... thats not you is it? I never see the one series in this state, so its funny that there is one so close.

I plan on going with the real thing and deleting the sunroof.

My girlfriend used to live off Airport & Eliza lake, but since has moved down M59 on Duck Lake road on the shore of White Lake. It may have been mine, but if you see it consistently, then it wasn't me.

I had considered doing the same thing, however, after utilizing Di-Noc on my previous car, I was beyond satisfied with how it turned out, and it got a lot of compliments along the way, so I will probably do the same thing, but with gloss CF Di-Noc this time.

Thanks man. I rarely see any carbon roofs here so I went with that to be unique. This was my first time wrapping anything with vinyl and I am happy with the results.
