when does sh*t stop leaking onto rocker panels?
Does anyone else have the problem of a black goo leaking from the bottom of the doors onto the rocker panels about 18" back from the front wheel well (both sides)? Happens everytime it rains and everytime I was the car. Does this eventually go away? Seems to have an oil base, as it's harder to clean off than regular dirt.

I wonder if it is the grease that is from your door hinges? Is it also under the door when you open it?

I get this all the time too. It's been a few months since I've gotten the car, and it is occasional. It rained today, so I will see if it shows up tomorrow.

Not from hinges. It comes from further back along the door than that. I think it's maybe some kind of sealant from inside the doors themselves.

Take a look at the black rubber scoop when you open your door, right up by where the B pillar would be (by the handle). There's a black scoop that diverts water along the rubber trim to a drop off point mid-way along the bottom of the door edge.
I don't think it's possible to get it to stop doing that, as it is a design queue to remove water from the door gap. I actually thought it was almost ingenious in it's simplicity, except for the incessant black line on my Alpine White car. |

Thanks, i will check that. Although i don't understand where it would pick up the fairly significant oily base along the way.

Might be vestigial cosmoline from the trip over. As it is now summer, ambient heat will soften/release the slimey goop. After nearly 5 months of ownership, I still get icky ooze from below the headlights.

Is the goop we're speaking-of black or tan?

It's a black streak of dirt on the rocker panel, because of the way the door jamb is designed to expel water. It's quite apparent on lighter colored cars.

I get it too. Quik Detailer removes it better than a normal wash. I thought I had a scratch or gouge the first time I noticed it. Glad it was just something on the surface.
