Armrest rattle
Anyone got any bright ideas on how to fix the rattle from the hinge on the armrest?

Foam pieces, microfiber towel jammed in the armrest, some spray silicone lubricant....... I've tried all with some varying degrees of success.
Your best bet is to open the windows. : )

So many attempted with dealer and can't solve the mystery rattle sounds. I gave up.

My g37 had 48k miles on it and was quiet. My 135i at 49k miles has rattles everywhere! Center console, dash, passenger A-pillar, interior roof lighting area...

My better half has a scarf stuffed in there for her hair when the windows are down. That slight tension seems to have cured it all.
I still have the A pillar rattle where the cheap plastic dash meets the pillar, a B pillar rattle of some sort, and more stuff happening on the rear deck. Her ZHP at 130k is as silent as the grave. *edit* Hell, my 30 year old 911 have fewer rattles.

Armrest Rattle: Stuff a flat piece of rubber into the hinge. Fixed.
A-Pillar squeak: Spray some silicone into the gap. Clear tyre shine spray works great. |

You shouldn't be comparing our cars to Civics... they are twice the price when new. Of course a Civic/Impreza/etc is going to rattle more. Just like our cars are going to rattle more than a $120k S-Class. |

I somehow have a penny stuck inside the bottom part of the armrest. It went in thru the card holder and fell inside. No clue how to get it out.
As for the armrest lid and rattle, I've tried using a microfiber towel up against the hinge. It doesn't always work (before the penny became an issue). |

Dam squeaky, rattling armrest finally broke. It pops open on its own. Well, at least I get a new one that will be squeak free for the first 5000 miles. lol....
