Depends what brand and where you are located.

Most brands have one dealer in each state that is allowed to sell Motorsport tyres and all the other tyre stores have to buy off them.

In NSW
Gary’s Motorsport Tyres in Arndell Park sell Dunlop and Hankook
Gordon Leven Tyres in Emu Plains sell yokohama

i found the semi slick yoko's to be awesome in the dry at EC, they are A070's or something like that

Since your post it got me into action and i did some digging for my own R spec tyres.
Just picked up some Hankook Z221 C30 Compound (Hard) in 225/45R17 for $250 each. Normal list price is $400.

I bought them from http://www.garysmotorsporttyres.com.au/specials
They just got a massive assorted shipment in from Hankook and have more than what the page says you just have to call up and ask.

I've been to the farm before and it is not camera friendly. It is a small price to pay to be able to access that place.
