I have a Dinan E82 Short-Shift Kit for sale. It was installed in my 2010 135i M Sport that I'm about to turn in off lease. I've been told that this part only works with 2008-2010 135's with the twin turbo N54. It will not fit the 2011+ single turbo N55.

Product Description

Dinan's short-shift kit reduces the distance or throw necessary to make gear changes providing a sportier feel. The Dinan short shifters are application specific in order to achieve the appropriate reduction of throw, providing the associated benefits without making the desired gear difficult to locate or require inordinate effort; a common complaint with other manufacturers' short-shift kits where a ''one size fits all'' approach is common. In addition, Dinan's short-shifters retain the nylon pivot ball and shifter bushing, providing the same smooth and quiet operation as the original shifter. Other manufacturer's shifters employ metal components which tend to be noisier and induce a notchy feel. The short-shifter is also rubber isolated for a solid feel and vibration free operation. The Dinan shifter reduces throw by 8%.

Here are some answers to questions that have come up...

Honestly I could not say for sure. I don't even see a Dinan SSK for the 2011+ N55 on the website. I checked UUC's site and they have a different part # for the 2011+, so it certainly seems you are correct.

It's definitely noticeable, shifts fell much better and seem more accurate as well. With the stock part, shifting sometimes felt unnatural to me. The lever just didn't always seem like it wanted to move easily to where I wanted it to. After a long spirited drive I felt like I was wrestling with it too much. The downshift into second and 5th to 3rd shifts are where I notice it the most. It's not super short by any means, but it's very comfortable to drive "passionately" for long periods of time with.
