For those who were wondering the battery cable service action replaces roughly a 6in section of cable with terminal on the forward junction box behind the glove box.
This service action is performed due to very uncommon corrosion can occur at that connection. Forgot to say you will not loose any programming battery negative is the only thing else that gets disconnected. Last edited by Bordia; 04-01-2013 at 12:13 PM.. |

So I had the 328i m package, and I won't lie, I milked the crap out of her on the streets and on freeway. On the last day with the loaner I was going at normal speed to keep it at the original gas tank but I gunned it to the 1st lane from 4th lane just one last time and BAM there was a cop with a radar in the carpool lane side of the road. He put me down at 87 with no proof of insurance. I was not aware that the paperwork had insurance info on it and I thought I had to have my insurance card with me which was in my 128i.
I can get the proof of insurance part dismissed ($600 in cali) and I'm going to fight my speeding too. Wish me luck. I'm just glad I got caught at 87 instead of the obnoxious speeds I was going on other times with the loaner.... hahahahahaa..... |

I was also not a fan of the auto shutoff of the vehicle. Feels like a prius. Sometimes it even made a sound to return on the engine when I was back into motion and people walking on the roads were like wtf. Are all new 3 series like that now? It seems to affect the takeoff speed as well.

Going to schedule mine this week. Do you all think I should take off my Cobb tune? I'm FBO, I guess I can just uninstall it in the parking lot so SES lights don't come on. I doubt the O2s set that quick. Warranty runs out in June, so not a huge deal there.

cool! I just turned 22 last month. Problem is the dealer's insurance doesn't cover people under 25 for loaner cars. They have an enterprise inside of the BMW dealership and so they send me there. They pay for it of course, but I always end up with a corolla or something

Budds BMW only gives you a BMW if you bought the car from them. Otherwise, you get a corolla or an enterprise rental without insurance. They have a two-tier system in the dealership, so you don't get access to a new special lounge or to BMW loaner because you're second tier - no matter how much you spent there at the service department or went to their service department for the scheduled maintenance exclusively. In conclusion, I won't be going back there.

Today I got a brand-new X1 with a big stupid decal on the side. I would post a pic if I knew how.
Nice car though. Edit: Took the car out at lunch today and we looked at the window sticker that was in the glove compartment. Apparently the stupid decals are part of something called the "Snowbird" package, whatever that is. Overall I really like the car though. Its plenty quick and I bet you can sneak up on people driving cars they think are fast. Its a little too small even for a small SUV. And the sticker was nearly $47k. Ouch.

Actually I did get a 328i : ). Turns out they changed policies and now they cover anyone over 21.
Things I don't like: Electric Steering No engine sound whatsoever. Feels too quiet

I got a 328i. As I drove away in it the rear passenger TPMS light came on. I didn't take the time to put air back into the tire before I returned the loaner so... I got a call later from the SA and they want me to pay for a new tire because it apparently had a nail in it. We all know how much run flat tires cost....darn it!

Ive been driving BMW dealer loaners since I was 17. My latest loaner was a 535xi. And I gotta say it, its a pretty well done car. I like it a lot. Ive also gotten an X5D a couple of times and I really like that car too. Much better than the X3, X1 and F30 that ive had. The X3 is a little awkward inside, the X1 has really poor wing mirror placement and the blinker glares into the cabin, and I just didnt gel with the 328. |

I got a stripped down 128. And I have to say, it looked spartan inside.

My dealer won't give me a loaner because I'm 21. (They said I need to be 24 to be able to drive a loaner). That makes no sense because I'm in the Air Force and rental car companies don't give me a problem but whatever.
I'm borrowing my dad's DD which is a 2013 ford fiesta. It's better than no car, I guess. |
