E9X dashboard in E82?

I searched but couldn't find anything.

Can anyone tell me what is going on with this car? I think it is a 1M clone, but it is clearly an E82, but it has a E9X dashboard and console. Does a E9X dash even fit?

Video here (interior at 3:46):

That gap between the dash and air vents looks awful.

Very weird. I don't hate it though. The fitment is poor, as evident by the impressions on the door panel. I wonder if they ever finished it with the A-pillar coverings and whatnot. The seats look good as well.

By the looks of it, that car has a very bored owner.

Good eye - I didn't even notice the A-pillar being bare. Now that I look, the lack of A-pillar leaves a big gap in the dash too.

To be clear, this is not something I am thinking about doing... I just wouldn't have thought it was even possible. I had an E90, and it seemed a lot wider than my 135.

I didn't think that your post was intended for anything more than a conversation piece, but here's some info the internet has provided me with:

To be fair the car will be driven with the doors close so you should not see a gap while driving. Obviously plenty money went of to make this car the way it looks, I think it does look good.

The 'carbon fiber' trim pieces attach directly to the part of the dash above it, it's one piece. I'm pretty sure that isn't a gap just the low light and dark material make it look larger. See how it tapers on the far left of the trim?

Stumbled upon this thread because I though I saw a E9X with a E82 dash. Makes me wonder even more if they are relatively interchangeable considering they are the same E90 platform.
