"In Production" doesn't mean actually in production?
I am so confused by the variety of dates I have been given by the OC, that I will just wait until I am told to come pick up my car.
On the 1/10, I was told that my car went "into production" at 6:41 am, this even though my tentative build week was week four (having gone from week six, to week nine, to week four). TODAY, I was informed that, on 1/10, a chassis, hanging somewhere on a meathook, had been allocated to my car, but it had not started its little jaunt down the assembly line. I am still not scheduled to start down the line until somewhere between 1/21 and 1/25, OR WEEK FOUR! Just as an aside, the automated 800 number told me on the 12th or 13th that my car was at the port awaiting shipping. Guess it really doesn't matter, if all cars are being held until the 22nd of March , but it is aggravating to have the story keep changing. A couple weeks either way for you young guys, no problem. Us geezers, geez that could cut our time behind the wheel in half! :eyebulge: |

It's very rarely EXTREMLY accurate.. its there to give you a good guide line..At any time for any reason the process can be haulted and you may never know why.. all you need to know is, once at VPC add 7 days for transport to dealer and you should be fine.. (it's a rule of thumb only)

I've found that talking to customer service gives pretty bad info.
I was told that I was week 8 (cs rep), then week 9 (cs rep), then in production on week 3 (automated), then was told expected completion date of 1/16 (automated), then on 1/16 was told I wasn't in production yet and completion date is 1/24 (cs rep), then on 1/17 was told completed and awaiting transport (automated), then in 1/18 still awaiting transport (automated). As you can tell, I'm OCD about the car... Today, the OC site shows the update: |

I've decided to confirm through my dealer everything that I get from the 800# . His last report of my status, as of this morning is:
"160 Vehicle handover to Sales 181 Handover to Distribution 182 handover to carrier/load assignment This means it's about to be moved to the Port." So that makes me 182 now, according to him. I find it odd that his code descriptions don't exactly jive with the codes that I've seen listed elsewhere, though. Maybe they've changed. BTW, mine's AW with Terra/black trim and lots of other stuff, too. |
