Question How long did your car stay at "awaiting transport"?

Hello Fellow 1ers,

My 135i completed production about 10 days ago (around June 6-7) and is still reads as "awaiting transport" on bmwusa.com. How long did your 135i remain at that status before going on to "en route"?

As you might of guessed. The wait is killing me! Thanks for helping me frame my expectations.

Thanks!

MarinJeff

i have now ordered (2) 135i convertibles (first car order was cancelled due to a change in options).
both cars were "awaiting transport" around 7 days.
both orders took 6 weeks total for the cars to arrive at the dealer.
the second order comes in either today or tomorrow!!!!!!! (MY CAR)

Mine stated awaiting transport for about 5 days, however after three it was loaded on the ship. Owners circle does definately lag behind quite a bit at times.

I picked up my car via European Delivery and dropped it off in London. It sat on the docks in Southampton for two and a half weeks. At the moment, it is still "en route."

I'm awaiting transport also, I just got my production # yesterday, and it says awaiting transport, BUT it says I have a Steptronic, could this be wrong? I just noticed it and my dealer is off today.

The information on BMW's order tracking online is almost ALWAYS wrong before you have a VIN# Once that it assigned, it should show the correct information. Before I had my VIN # the order tracking said I had a 5 series, a 3 series, and an X5.

It should certainly have a VIN by now. It gets a VIN a few days before the car is produced IIRC

This is great, you would think if this is your job, you would be able to handle it, Now I'm sure I'm getting pushed back now. I'll call this clown tommorow. I wonder if I'd get Steptronic for free? I doubt it, I cut them down alot. And I don't want step.

Mine finished production on 4/17 and didn't get on a ship until 5/4. So almost 3 weeks.

Wahoo, my status just changed to "En Route"!!!! So I guess that was about 12 days.

Is calling your CA the only way to find out what boat it's on?

Thank you all for your responses -- you helped me get through the dark times! :P

You're probably on the Maersk Wave that left on the 17th. Boats to the left coast leave less frequently than to the east coast so if you check the schedule on dbh (see the sticky), and compare that information with the day your status got updated, you can more or less deduce which boat you are on. It takes 3 weeks to get to Southern Cal plus a few more days to get to the Bay Area, so the dark times aren't over yet. I do wish that it goes by fast for you though!
